  • This takes me back a bit.

  • I don't remember Stingray. I do remember the thunerbirds tho. Great t.v. for kids does anyone remember his prime time American show Space 1999?

  • Space 1999 was a British show, with two American actors (Martin Landau and Barbara Bain).....

  • Was that the really cheesy one where little fighter ships shot CO2 cartridges at spinning UFOs that always blew up? Or... maybe that one was called UFO - I don't remember.

  • i do maybe nvm that was thundercats

  • Wasn't Anderson a cunt in that he just didn't care about the models, and doesn't really know where they are?

  • thanks for sharing ! Yes - these were the best years for kid tv - that;s what decided me to become a pilot!

  • I was lucky enough to grow up with Gerry Anderson's shows as a kid. I feel sorry for kids nowdays and some of the total crap they have to watch.

  • DO they rerun this on any station?

  • Yeah, On The Sci-Fi Channel

  • Cool video. Stingray is a great show

  • Yes It was one of my favorite tv shows. Hope to build a model soon.

  • stop fightin' !

19-F-hottie here. I'm just saying that girls LOVE this vid. Ep

  • just still pictures? youtube was done for videos not pictures.

  • No this is from the 1960's TV show. First ever color show on British television.

  • is this the stingray that killed steve irwin?

  • by cricky lol stingray

  • what's that in the tail???

  • Enjoyed the video. The music didn't really do it for me - rather hear the theme song of the show, but that's just me. ; )

  • did this ever go into production ?

  • Their was a short run of the model from a British company called Comet models. They sold very fast, I missed out on them. Think they only did 20 or so.

  • Very impressive video, great job, brings back great memories...

  • Thankks for your comment. I really loved that show andwant to make a model very badly.

  • look like big my arm was 20lb

  • Whats the name of this song?

  • Mike & the Mechanics, "Can you hear me" perhaps. it from the 80s

  • The song's title is "Silent Running" from Mike + The Mechanics (Mike Rutherford of Genesis), and the song is from '87 or '88. Absolutely haunting and a perfect song for a vid about a submarine. :-)

  • Thanks I though so when I made this. Thanks for your comment.

  • Stingray was an inspiration to my youth. Thank you for posting this wonderful video.

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • thanx just got an email from r2d2 studieos and he made that stingray sub from a small kit rosin fiberglass commet kit he made it bigger it is not a stingray rc kit though i have asked if he make more stingray subs that size he has in your video you did a wonderful job on it i will try and get the blue prints if i can so maybe we can build a stingray sub i will let you know ok

    take care

    don

  • As a Submariner myself and knowing the art of speed vs. silence, the tubine screw would be incredible but the open torpedo tubes would cause so much noise you could hear the sub from farther than I would want.

  • does this thing actually work or just look good?

  • Not at the speed that the original show proclaimed but the screw is feasable

  • Well I made this video from stuff i collected on the web. And yes there are working model Stingray's. I am still trying to get a good one for myself. I don't know if the jumping out of the pool scene was satged or not but it is something the tv series had alot. I think that pcture was from the people who made the series since I have spoken to them via email and they had seen this video of mine.

  • These are a collection of photos I have collected but there are kits available from britian and some people have scratch built them. I am hoping to build one soon.
