maybe it is weird question but pls dont judge on me by this one: why do they wear headphones? is that like they recorded the song alltogether in one room not doing their best and now they record bass, guitar and drums separately? how is that like because we see them playing together and alone, both main parts and some adds... thx in advance

@Qoooba95 Usually the instruments are seperated in the studio to prevent bleeding. Each instrument is recorded on it's own track, and you don't want the bass heard in the guitar track, or the drums heard in the bass track. They wear headphones so they can hear all of the instruments clearly. When you see them playing together with the amps present, it's either a rehearsal or a basic track they can overdub on later.

I read somewhere once that Flea always felt like he had to record with the best bass that he could rather than the musicman stingray's he was playing live at the time, and he recorded most of One Hot Minute with an Alembic Epic because of this. I think I read that in Bass Player Magazine like 10 years ago. I just remember all that random shit.
