  • are they using a double figure 8 to tie themselves in ? it looks like it could be different

  • at 2:30 does he back clip >.>

  • at 1:30 it's sign language for rockclimbing...

  • Well, no matter what the grade was, it wasn't easy. Probably harder climb than most of us will ever do, hence why not everyone makes the world finals!

  • my hands get sweaty just by watching this.

  • @ohedd mine too

  • What was the climb rated at? There's no way it compares to a 15.c... I'm sure the climb is crazy hard, but those holds are way too positive for a 15.c..

  • Scrubs like you who come to youtube and throw out random lingo they learned last saturday at the gym make the rest of us look bad...

  • love to see "monkey man" take part in this competition

  • 15c wtf i can climb 7c but 15 uv got to plan ur rout for like a week :D

  • I think you are comparing to different kinds om grading. it's 5.15c, if your gunna compare that to 7c you must first figure out what that grade is in american standards.

  • 5.15c is like 9a;)

  • @Thomasikzelf 9b lol ;p

  • What is the music in the background of this? I always listen to my MP3 player when I'm on lead and this would be awesome on those long hard routes :)

  • i don't mean to seem stupid or anything, but this looks like something i want to do. i don't know what you guys were arguing about in earlier comments but it sounds complicated. how exactly do you get into doing this.

    please message me.

  • It's not complicated to do, but you'll soon learn grade-bickering is an integral part of the sport!

To get into it i'd recommend heading into your nearest climbing gym (google should throw one up, or the phone book if you're old-skool). Ask for an introduction course, to teach you the (few, but essential) basics.

Get a mate involved - you'll need someone to hold your ropes/

  • I personally got into climbing by applying for an two-day weekend introductory course. After said weekend, I received a climbing license (you need those here to rent gear, use gyms, etc. here in Norway, and can get one by taking a test or introductory course), and that was it, now I'm climbing, and it's fun as heck.

Amazing thing is how fast you learn. You watch videos like this and think it's super-advanced and difficult, but it's actually really easy to get into, so I say go for it:)!

  • @MidgardEagle @MidgardEagle Me and the wife are starting a 4 week course soon, but I'm scared of hights so a little nervous, the wife is fine as she has done a little before. Anyone got any recommendations? Apart from don't bother!!

  • @unclepeter99 Go for it. Sports climbing is an excellent way to fight fear of heights. Just take it easy and at your own pace, and you'll be fine:).

  • @MidgardEagle Thanks a lot. Going bouldering again this weekend and starting the climbing course on the 6th Feb, a little nervous.

  • actually the hardest routes that have been send are la rambla and realization(5.15a/9a+)...but sharma and dani andrada have a project about a 5.15c/9b+...so the hardest is not a 14a/b...YOU ARE WRONG!!

    Respect!

    haha saludos desde colombia!!

  • okay la rambla is not the hardest. It is the hardest deep water solo not sport route. and realization is one of the hardest but not the hardest.

  • la rambla is not a deep water solo, it is a sport route. maybe you are meaning about es pontas, the sharma's deep water solo. the highest grade sent untill now in sport route is 5.15 (9a+), in crack route is 5.14b/c (8c/+).in deep water solo it seems to be es pontas...but it has not second ascent...

I hope this information may help you :)

    Respect!!

  • ethan pringle has got the second ascent of Es Pontas now...

  • the hardest sport route send untill now is jumbo love 5.15c or 9b+

  • la rambla is a 5.15a sport lead, not deep water solo, get your facts strait

  • Sireenn is right.

I don't know where he lives..

But the US has 5.15's easy..

Not inside, there isn't a gym that can hold something that hard.

    But outside..

    Yeah.

You are being ignorant Poltasius. You are jumping to conclusions before you know what you are actually talking about.

  • what grade are the highest? in Norway we 9 is the thoughest indoor..

  • 5.9?

I believe the highest we have is 5.15c.

  • o.o

Maybe where you are. You don't have to be rude about it, grades are different in different places.

Besides the fact you're being ingnorant, learn online courtisy.

  • ya, seriously

  • it does exist it is a route called jumbo love and there are lots of 15a´s, 14d´s search dreamcatcher than youll see

  • and 15c indoor is just impossible

  • cool

  • probably arond 14A/B

  • wow! whats the grade for that do you think?

  • i agree with sireenn, 15c is probably the hardest in yds system, but i think a 9b (euroscale) is more like a 5.15d. But i think the route in the video is around 14c, because they need competition, not trial and error
