  • Nice Job. You are forgiven all your sins. :-) Time and tide my friend. The under 50 crowd may get it... but God willing they will!!!

  • I LIKE UR VERSION.....DID YOU SING IN A PUB BEFORE????

  • flippin' beautiful pickinpop!!

  • Very nice! Enjoyed your story

  • what a beautfull, soulfull voice...makes me relaxed.

  • thanks so much for a nice comment

  • My mistake, sorry; I must have forwarded through the lead in dialogue.

  • this is quality; though it seems it has been recorded in a studio and mimed.have you released anything and do you cover prine as I think your voice would suit his stuff

  • i recorded this with a zoom digital recorder 5 years ago and yes i mimed it here even admitted that fact here. i need to learn some john prine when i get time thanks, the studio was in my kitchen. the zoom 802 ms is a good recorder has all the effects built in whatever you might want . thanks for watching and commenting

  • you're great yourselfe, love your voice!!!Maybe we can do a duo once :-))

  • at least 2 times hahahahaha soon i will record in my little studio and send you some song files, if you would like. busy now but by this spring i should have some song files together.

  • Excellent! refreshingly mellow, my friend. Thanks for sharing.

  • pickinpop, thats a nice sound track, and you do a fine job, i use all sound files in my show, via sequencer, i program the bass, drums and piano, some people say its alot like karoke, but no its not, i had to put in every single piece of digital information, thats the part they miss, the behind the scenes. so don't worry if its right or not. it sounds great, so do it

  • Very good song and I really like your version.

    *****'s

  • Just found you..Awesome singing!! I so enjoy any of Gordon's songs. (5*) Sherry

  • Great stuff: I always loved Gordon and you've done him proud!.>ERIK

  • Hey pop, that was so smooth, really enjoyed it.

I'd like to see you and Chris play. I've seen

Him several times but not with you playin with him. I use to go see him at the Vinyard

I've always wanted to blow a little harp with him but didn't want to impoes while he's playin. Any gigs commin up soon?

  • give me my pappy's instrument back...

  • give me my pappy's guitar back then...dammit

  • im confused can you explain?

  • Yes! brother I know exactly what you're gonna do with that song of mine and I tell you, I'm looking forward to hearing it real bad. Thanks for the offer and thank you for this song. One of my favorite singer/songwriters, he definitely was a big inspiration in my early years of playing. The others were, Jim Croce, James Taylor, Bob Dylan of course, and many others. You do Gord justice brother! Mark

  • check out the shirt im wearing i had it made in the philippines i designed it myself and took the material to the tailor shop and they charged me 8 dollars to make and embroider it

  • That was a good deal. I never made it to the Philippines, even though I had many of chances throughout my 14 years I spent in the Air Force Reserves. I was already married to a wonderful Thai lady and thought is was best to go to Alaska for my 15 day duties or Guam, than to the Philippines. I've heard a lot of stories though, and met a lot of nice folks from there though.

  • I was born in 1981.. Good year!

  • Great video! Really enjoyed it!

  • thanks a lot i think chris leblanc and i are doing some acoustic gigs this week i'll let you know

  • Please do!! I'd love to go!!!

  • haha i can spell PC either haha

Good job .. i love gordon lightfoot .. i met him .. i worked a show setting up the equipment and after they came off stage for sound check i said "nice Martin" to the guitar player he said" HERE play it if you want" .. i said " eh ok and jammed for few seconds" and he snatched it back and "jokingly" said HEY dont BURN IT UP i gotta play that thing later .. haha Then he called out " Hey GORDON come here check THIS guy out." Gordon invited me to his studio, COOL

  • so cool, gordon is one of the greatest singers and writers of all time, thanks for watching some of my videos, im not a superpicker coz i went 19 years without touching an instrument of any kind but i try to put feeling into whatever i do so that people will enjoy the music. i dont plan to quit again, im 54 years old and plan to play till im 100

  • Beautiful my friend.

  • thanks elvis i mean baldy hahaha , i almost didnt recognize you without the black hair and silver glasses and the white kings suit

  • Very nice mellow song, fun to hear you play solo :)

Great sounding axe, you build that you say?

  • yes this was the first one i built way back in 1981 when i was a young man, i still have some wood that is very old and plan soon to build some 000 28 style guitars. my dad is 80 years old and still building mandolins, if u get time search online for luke thompson music

  • Very nice axe, thats cool you built it :)

I searched a bit for your dad, but couldn't find too much yet, if you have a link where I could look at what he build it would be great if you PM it to me sometime :) Hope I'm still doing that kinda thing if I ever reach 80!

I have been wanting to build guitars for a while but haven't gotten around to making anything serious of it yet, as I have no clue where to start. Maybe one of these days :)

Love the jacket by the way hehe

  • have faith and do whats right even if everyone else does bad, its the nature of the beast to try and hammer us down but they cant, and when u get tired of the way they treat u here i got a beautiful single sisterinlaw in the philippines

  • You are an inspiration, thanks for the story and the song. I struggle to balance music with my 3 little kids while going through a less then amicable divorce. I am sure our situations are vastly different but close enough for you to be an inspiration.

  • Kudos (pronounced /ˈkjuːdɒs/, often /ˈkuːdoʊz/), from the Greek κύδος, kydos, (literally "that which is heard of") means "fame" and "renown" resulting from an act or achievement. Extending "kudos" to another individual is often done as a praising remark. It entered English as British university slang in the early 1800s.

  • i had to look it up on google also coz after coco asked i started wondering also what it really meant

  • That 1/2 my age bit made me shiver, but you seem a very decent man, and I wish you both all the best in life. And thanks to your kids for helping you get this wonderful piece on YouTube.

    Coco.

  • hahaha everyone almost is 1/2 my age. the kids helped me 4 years ago when i first got into all this digital recording and bought a computer they got me started, its funny im a good student and now they have to ask me how to do things on the pc and how to edit video, but like i tell them i been a kid much longer than they have

  • I´m 50. Have all kinds of ages around me, too, plus cats and dogs.

Indeed, I still feel a teenager myself, unless I look into the mirror.
