Hey fantastic video. I am a lead teacher at a primary school in New Zealand and we are looking into two options; google apps/sites and mahara, for eportfolios. I liked the idea of everything being administered in google apps where I can ring fence the domain and ensure that students are safe online. I am wondering if this can be done in mahara. Can a teacher have administration rights to students accounts allowing them to check what students are writing and sharing.
Hello Julian, Wonderfully instructional presentation, as always! We will be testing Mahara's tie in with Moodle starting next week. We hope Mahara will allow third party widgets, for we have more wishes than the environment can meet at the moment, but then agaian, it has only been recently released. The release of Moodle 2 should also greatly increase the possibilities for integration.
Similar question to danleighton from above, have you been able to link assignments from Moodle to Mahara and/or had students send 'views' from Mahara back to Moodle?

Julian, this is great stuff. We are a UK school that have been using Moodle very succcessfully for the last 4 years and are just going through the process of adding Mahara to our VLE so this videocast has been most pertinent. Look forward to seeing the follow-ups!
