I was a huge Steve/Kayla fan back then and I remember the patch removal scene very well. Does anybody know the date it happened? Or at least the month/year?
I think that scene says everything about their relationship. He thinks if he lets anyone see the "real" him they'll see something grotesque, and everyone he's run in to practically agreed with him. Then comes along Kayla and she doesn't see anything as grotesque, she sees him as he is and most importantly she's not afraid to look deeper.
There should be an English Lit class based on this stuff. LOL
