The all important rubber thingie! Now I understand where it goes to install the disposal unit back again - Thank-you so much for posting your video! My back thanks you too!
How to get the disposal against the drain tight enough to get the capture ring to catch? Only two hands? Get the scissor jack from your vehicle and using two pieces of plywood or planking, place one under the jack and one atop, under the new unit, and slowly jack it into place, applying enough pressure so that the rubber seal seats evenly against the drain pipe, then the capture ring slips easily onto the slots and turns to tighten. ... Y'all are welcome.
Your videos are great! However, it seems that you had a problem remounting the disposal (1:15). In fact you commented "I hope I have the right bracket." The camera briefly cut away and returned showing you successfully mounting the disposal. Can you explain what happen? It may the same problem that many of us could encounter.
I think he was just trying to do it with one hand and couldn't quite get it.... the 2nd part of the video shows his knee holding the disposal in place from the bottom and him using both hands to twist the bracket.
Wow, Thanks! My garbage disposal fell off while using it. I had no idea how to fix this. Found your video and was able to put it back on in matter of minutes.
Thank you Micheal, Thank you! My dad and husband have been working on replacing the disposal for about an hour and after watching your short video, they placed it in 1 minutes! Thank you, Thank you!
Thank you!

Thank you Michael for making this very simple to understand and install.
I was able to get it done while husband was at the store.
No problems at all. Disposal was a little heavy but nothing I (a woman):)) couldn't handle.
