She's no Adam Lambert, but she was the person who was cheated that season. She should have won and got kicked off a little too early for her amazing talent. She was the best of the season. And @MrWwerealwrestler they should've had Steven Tyler as a judge when the show started lol. More entertaining than all the judges who've come and gone combined!
I just felt bad and I didn't imrpove in anything instead, I just lost my confidence. After years, a teacher gave me inspiration by saying good things about me and I really had hope and imrpoved a lot . People doesn't need too much mean comments for them to improve. They need to feel confident and a bit of criticism but not like simon does. no offense to simon fans out there
If the judge was steven tyler, he would have like it. He'd like siobhan's uniqueness and vocal power . Siobhan is actually phenomenal and if you would see her covering joplin songs, she really rocks with her own style of singing and performing. Steven tyler was right when he told randy not to tell people they're not good. I just don't know why people compare him to simon. In my opinion, steven is a better judge. Simon brought a lot of people down. I had been criticized once & lost my confidence.
She was really good here, almost pitch perfect and I thought very heartfelt and honest. There was just a little something missing though. Siobhan owned the stage in "Wicked Game", "House of the Rising Sun", "Paint it Black", and "Superstition", but after "Through the Fire", she sort of lost her way. Sure I loved "Suspicious Minds" and "Across the Universe", but even those lacked a bit of conviction.
Anyway, huge Siobhan fan watching all her performances again for the umpteenth time:)

I don't think Siobhan cares if people prefers to hang out with her more than buying her records, in fact, I think she'd love to rather just hang out with her fans than forcing them to buy her albums. No matter, we'll gladly do both.
Her vocals on this really did sound pretty and I know that's what it should just be about but Simon does have a point with what she was wearing. I know she has a quirky distinctive style but it did feel out of place. I remember when I first saw this performance I thought wow she sounds good and where the heck do u get a butterfly dress lol. I think another problem for some people was that this song is just covered so often and verges on being corny, no matter how it's sung. Kind of overdone
@aydiamond17 Agreed. I think she could have gone for something big, actually. I think if she tried a Christina song (The Voice Within would have been great) this could have been a better week for her. Siobhan's still my favorite, though.
siobhan should've took on " show must go on" by the queen, like carly smithson did on inspirational song choice. i would imagine she would nail it! instead on looking diva-ish, she might have rocked out with the black makeup dressed in black!

I haven't been able to watch this season except on YouTube a couple of times but it seems like its like Season 4 when Carrie was Simon's fav and he could never complement Vonzell it seems like this is happening with Crystal and Sioban except that I don't think that Crystal is as good as Carrie or Sioban is as good as Vonzell I think the whole Idol thing has kinda gone downhill the last couple of years I don't even watch Australian Idol anymore that's how bad it's gotten.
Siobhan does best in her upper registry since most of her high school stage songs were opera style vocals. This is the only area of vocal experience she really has and her total control of vibrato is the evidence. The bottom line for this sweet gal: She has everything it takes to be a superstar. .
I absolutely believe with the right direction Siobhan will show why many got so excited about her talent.
Siobhan was subjected to alot of unwarranted criticsm by Randy, Simon,and especially Kara for daring to tackle a song made famous by two towering female icons. The irony is that Siobhan is going to sell as many records as Mariah and Whitney before her career is over.
The judges found out the truth of Siobhan. She's a great pretender, not true to herself. She acted all nerdy and naive offstage, but when she is on stage, she is totally transformed into a pro singer and her stage presence is totally pro. The judges is doing what they did on purpose to get her out... otherwise, it's a conspiracy. She is totally awesome in my opinion.
I love Siobhan Magnus and I wish she would've won, but I didn't like this rendition at all. It is too hard to take on a Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston number. Kara and Simon was right. However, I still wish she would've won.
The judges are starting to REALLY tick me off. They don't get her voice and what she's capable of. She's a beautiful and talented woman who has one of the most phenomenal voices in Pop culture today and should be respected by these dumbass judges! I am extremely proud of Siobhan for choosing a song that she loved and i'm VERY proud of her for STANDING UP FOR HERSELF AND DEFENDING HER RIGHT TO SING AND EXPRESSS HERSELF FOR WHATEVER AND WHO SHE IS! I love this girl more and more. She is without a doubt, the most awesome individual ever to appear on this show. American Idol is/was losing its edge and Siobhan brought it back. Fuck the haters. Was this her best performance? Definitely not. But by now, we all know this girl can sing and deserves to win this competition.

She's just too good to hold back. "Superstition" is the performance where I thought she seemed totally in her element, totally comfortable.

The studio performance of this just came out. WOW!!! It's great. Her best yet. Her voice is liquid gold. She's little Mariah-Whitney. WOW, I loved it.
I don't understand Kara and Simon. I thought this was her best performance and they have given better comments on worse songs that she has sang in the past. It is like they are trying to sabatoge her. You will even hear Kara say technically, she sounded good but it started to sound like a musical. It is like she's trying to find something to nag at.

@oso7jo7ro I agree, I'm not trying to diss Crystal...everyone knows she's a good singer, but overall Siobhan did a better job. I thought Siobhan had better control with this than any other song. Crystal was a little all over the place at times with hers. And just because she start crying at the end, it was like the judges praised her for that. Had it been anyone else, the judges would have said something.
This is the only one i want to see come out with a cd. If I wanted Janis Joplin or Bonnie Raitt, i'd buy that, not Crystal's. She is amazing though, just not refreshing enough.. i heard a song on the radio and it sounded exactly like Lee and that's just not something we need more of right now. I love Siobhan's sound and her stage presence. She has the X-factor and that is what draws us to her. Crystal will probably win this thing. How predictable, just like her performances (to me, that is).

I am her fan, but lets face it : Siobhan seems to be in "recession" caused by choosing the wrong songs and by the discouraging comments of Kara and particularly Simon. I hope for her comeback. Otherwise the show will become veeery boooring.

I really want to like the girl but her singing is like she is reading it from a prompter. She is cute, nice, cool and can hit great notes but her singing is lacking. Maybe after another 4 years she can pull it together. I am thinking she will come in third because of all the youngsters. I wish she would pick some better songs.
i dont know if its just my preference, or everyone feels it. But it felt (especially with the build up of the music and the first couple lyrics) as if it needed the Power and more emotion behind it. To me her voice almost seemed restrained, a bird of prey with Jesse's/harness on it. I absolutely love her uniqueness and beauty of personality and emotion, if not her voice. I hope that despite the difficulties of pursuing a career in music that she does it, and enjoys it.
i love sioban, and she's from my town. i think her weakness is her style---she sings with a somewhat mechanical quality I guess. she has crazy stylistic flourishes (that weird scream/jazzy thing she does when hitting really high notes), but she doesn't sing with a lot of emotion the way all great divas do. i hope she can learn from mariah/whitney in future performances.
Simon is unkind to her maybe because he was disappointed by her performances and song choices for 4 straight weeks. They have so many expectations to Siobhan and those expectations fell down. I would definitely love if she comes back with the performance like she did on "Think" and "Paint In black" where I could see that she's really enjoying. Maybe she was pressured after her "Through the fire" live performance where there were really pitch problems. I hope she's back next week. Go Siobhan!
I think Siobhan is a great singer... however... for me, it looks like this performance, she was too focused on her voice and not really the song. There are Youtubers here who have covered this song better than this particular performance. Just my opinion!
Kudos to Siobhan for her yummy performance. To me, it seems at times she keeps the mic to close to her mouth. Check out :57 - :59 of this clip and you can hear the mic picking up a couple of breathy puffs with her p's.
Siobhan is interesting, talented, different. Her demeanor is unlike any other. I wish her well. She will be successful, regardless of the results of this competition.

With the exception of Ellen, the judges are starting to make this poor girl cry at the end of every week and doubt herself. My question is WHY??? I haven't been able to watch this season except on YouTube a couple of times but it seems like its like Season 4 when Carrie was Simon's fav and he could never complement Vonzell it seems like this is happening with Crystal and Sioban except that I don't think that Crystal is as good as Carrie or Sioban is as good as Vonzell I think the whole Idol thing has kinda gone downhill the last couple of years I don't even watch Australian Idol anymore that's how bad it's gotten.

Siobhan does best in her upper registry since most of her high school stage songs were opera style vocals. This is the only area of vocal experience she really has and her total control of vibrato is the evidence. The bottom line for this sweet gal: She has everything it takes to be a superstar. .
I absolutely believe with the right direction Siobhan will show why many got so excited about her talent.

Siobhan was subjected to alot of unwarranted criticsm by Randy, Simon,and especially Kara for daring to tackle a song made famous by two towering female icons. The irony is that Siobhan is going to sell as many records as Mariah and Whitney before her career is over.

The judges found out the truth of Siobhan. She's a great pretender, not true to herself. She acted all nerdy and naive offstage, but when she is on stage, she is totally transformed into a pro singer and her stage presence is totally pro. The judges is doing what they did on purpose to get her out... otherwise, it's a conspiracy. She is totally awesome in my opinion.

The judges are starting to REALLY tick me off. They don't get her voice and what she's capable of. She's a beautiful and talented woman who has one of the most phenomenal voices in Pop culture today and should be respected by these dumbass judges! I am extremely proud of Siobhan for choosing a song that she loved and i'm VERY proud of her for STANDING UP FOR HERSELF AND DEFENDING HER RIGHT TO SING AND EXPRESSS HERSELF FOR WHATEVER AND WHO SHE IS! The best vocal singer of 2010 American Idol is now gone, American Idol has again become a joke of TV talent shows since it's more about popularity than singing.
If 10 Million votes are called in for who's hot and 1 Million for singing it's all for nothing as the winner crowned will not be the best singer, maybe the best performer or best looking but not the best singer.

I love this girl more and more. She is without a doubt, the most awesome individual ever to appear on this show. American Idol is/was losing its edge and Siobhan brought it back. Fuck the haters. Was this her best performance? Definitely not. But by now, we all know this girl can sing and deserves to win this competition.

@conidoc I think exactly the same thing. She seems a bit tentative and what a shame. When she sings "out" with confidence instead of withdrawn somewhat, she is awesome. I know this sounds overly simplistic, but I wish she would just sing the song without thinking and just let it happen naturally, forgetting there is anybody watching or judging her. She's just too good to hold back. "Superstition" is the performance where I thought she seemed totally in her element, totally comfortable.

American Idol is not just about talent, but to be an idol to everyone with their good personality. For Siobhan, I'm only rooting for her among the 2010 finalist, but I doubt she can win the competition because Lee & Crystal presence in the Top 12

I don't understand Kara and Simon. I thought this was her best performance and they have given better comments on worse songs that she has sang in the past. It is like they are trying to sabatoge her. You will even hear Kara say technically, she sounded good but it started to sound like a musical. It is like she's trying to find something to nag at.

Crystal was a little all over the place at times with hers. And just because she start crying at the end, it was like the judges praised her for that. This is the only one i want to see come out with a cd. If I wanted Janis Joplin or Bonnie Raitt, i'd buy that, not Crystal's. She is amazing though, just not refreshing enough.. i heard a song on the radio and it sounded exactly like Lee and that's just not something we need more of right now. I love Siobhan's sound and her stage presence. She has the X-factor and that is what draws us to her. Crystal will probably win this thing. How predictable, just like her performances (to me, that is).

I really want to like the girl but her singing is like she is reading it from a prompter. She is cute, nice, cool and can hit great notes but her singing is lacking. Maybe after another 4 years she can pull it together. I am thinking she will come in third because of all the youngsters. I wish she would pick some better songs.

i dont know if its just my preference, or everyone feels it. But it felt (especially with the build up of the music and the first couple lyrics) as if it needed the Power and more emotion behind it. To me her voice almost seemed restrained, a bird of prey with Jesse's/harness on it. I absolutely love her uniqueness and beauty of personality and emotion, if not her voice. I hope that despite the difficulties of pursuing a career in music that she does it, and enjoys it.

i love sioban, and she's from my town. i think her weakness is her style---she sings with a somewhat mechanical quality I guess. she has crazy stylistic flourishes (that weird scream/jazzy thing she does when hitting really high notes), but she doesn't sing with a lot of emotion the way all great divas do. i hope she can learn from mariah/whitney in future performances.

Simon is unkind to her maybe because he was disappointed by her performances and song choices for 4 straight weeks. They have so many expectations to Siobhan and those expectations fell down. I would definitely love if she comes back with the performance like she did on "Think" and "Paint In black" where I could see that she's really enjoying. Maybe she was pressured after her "Through the fire" live performance where there were really pitch problems. I hope she's back next week. Go Siobhan!

Wow, from people who probably believe they are the champions of "non-judgmental" people, they certainly have already judged Siobhan for what, talking a little bit slow? I guess she should apologize for not being a plastic Hollywood air-head. She is smart and a thinking person and has, dare I say, some character... listen to what she says and not how she may speak. As u always say, she is amazing on soo many levels. SIobhan is the real deal and the long awaited opportunity for the dumbed down no-talent current mainstream music industry to finally move forward and improve. She's awesome.

With the exception of Ellen, the judges are starting to make this poor girl cry at the end of every week and doubt herself. My question is WHY??? They overpraise and overlook vocal flaws of other contestants, but with Siobhan, it's like they're out for blood with her. I don't get it. I really do wish that Simon would just leave already and for someone to just punch Kara in the face. That woman is approaching the point of being unbearable.

I loved Siobahn's rendition; loved her voice; love her individuality; her passion for music; her unbending belief in herself despite the mean-spirited, confusing, and harsh criticism from Simon and Kara as well as Randy who has joined sourpuss Simon's bandwagon. Thank God, of all things, for Ellen, who is a Siobahn fan and seems to have a better ear than the so-called expert Simon.

She is better than the whole singers in the world except Crystal cause she is in the same league as Crystal and they are both professionals and also they will be in the top 2 but Siobhan will be the winner since America loved it.

Siobhan did a great job singing this song! I don't understand why Simon and Kara didn't like it. I guess they have to make sure their favorite Crystal and Lee get the top 2 spots.

The judges are always against Siobhan. Don't listen to them, Siobhan! Bring those high notes back! Those high notes are what make you unique, they are your money maker. You sounded great tonight baby! No one else on that stage could have done it better, not even Crystal.
