Something is seriously wrong here in the US (after watching this).. I did my homework on this rail service and others in India, and I was relatively surprised as to the low cost and excellent service.. Meanwhile, here in the capital of the world (for now), we can't even consider AMTRAK for our travel plans as it costs far more than flying..  All of our private rail companies have ditched/dumped passenger service in favor of cargo.. And driving, well, who can afford that as well? Not right..

Rajdhani should have 1 more feature i.e. They should have more varieties of food like chicken tandoori , mutton korma, shahi paneer, butter naan, lassi ,gol gappe, tikki ,chaat etc as simple foods are boring, or they can have small McDonalds,Pizza hut ,or Dominos etc :P It represents Indian tastes :)

i have always been a fan of rajdhani....but being from chennai.....the chennai delhi rajdhani didn satisy me as its a very old train.....i cannot afford going on a First AC of rajdhani....but thnx to u i got to see how it looks like without boarding the train..:)

trully an excellent train. we are very lucky to have it india, not to mention shatapdi,duronto and yuva and all the fully ac intercity expresses. and to add to that the 5 super luxury train(maharaja express, deccan oddessey, golden chariot, royal rajathan on wheels and palace on wheels. india is a trully train crazy country. and im trully a train crazy indian. im hoping to travel 1ac by rajdhani when i go to india this time

the best way to travel in a long distance indian trian...

1. go to the toilet, roll a nice joint.

2. then go to the pantry car.

3.make friends with the staff

4. share the joint along with them (dont worry they will make sure everything is under control)

5. enjoy rest of your journey with staff taking extra care of you and other passengers perpetually surprised amazed thinking you are royal indian

Very beautiful and nice video about train journey in India, remembers me of old times when I travelled from Bombay to Rajkot in my childhood (at that time coal engines after Viramgam). But the trains have improved much since then. How much was the ticket fare?

(You did a better job as an amateur then Star TV with Sanjeev Kapoor the Chefcook rating the Rajdani and Shatbadi express food regarding the amount and quality of the food here on Youtube!). Excellent. Very Impressive! Booth Khoob...

I travelled by Delhi Sealdah Rajdhani in November 2009. The fare was around $75.00 us dollars which is around Rs. 3500. It is goddam cheap in comparison to US. You also get a discount for senior gae 62+ and women of all ages get a disocount. The AC first class travel in Indian Rajdhani express trains is one of the world;s most comfortable journey at a competitve price.

sorry to bother you, just a quick question, do you have any idea if Rajdhani AC-1st class both sides of windows have ads or just one side. If its the corridor side then its ok. But after spending so much if I do not get the required window view from cabin, then its useless

I watched all 11 minutes of this video - amazing indeed. I've never been on these trains but I always wondered. I also started drooling at those foods! Great video!

I'm surprised that even these high-end trains do not have some centralized locking to prevent doors from opening (except emergency) when the train is in motion.
