I heard the same thing and have discussed it with the people at MJ777 (or one of the other MJ sites). Except we had a statement from Gavins ex girlfriend who said that Gavin said he was not molested by MJ and that he thought he was really cool that he was going to get money. His girlfriend later on though found Gavin cheating on her and started posting this statement. She seems to be legit, since she provided recent pictures of him and detailed info that he's getting an MBA in georgia.
