yeah the intercooler hose was fastened tight enough but it didn't break. You do realize that the modern Powerstroke diesel engine's design is that you have to work the truck hard to make it last longer. Duramax design is such that it is very sensitive to work loads.
The set up makes all the difference not the make or model both trucks are sick but niether are really set up to drag race. Stuff like this is just for fun and braging rights between friends.

But tell that to my 6.0 2006 ford f-350. i had more problems with it then i do with my chevy at 98k the 6.0 had to be replaced due to a failing egr that cracked the head. then at 113k for the Exact same problem the truck was nothing but problems and always treated well and never over pulled. my 95 silverado has 293k miles on it. still goes strong original motor and transmission. so your logic is fucked.
@Anthony1999gtp My dad's 2000 f-250 7.3 has 380,000 miles and has not had any major problems. Everything is original. But when they replaced the 7.3 with the 6.0 it was suppose to be a low emission motor and had a major defect. It was majorally Navistar fault with the problems with the motor, that is why ford bought them out. The orginal 6.0 are one of the worst motors ever made, but I know people with the new 6.0 and have 200,000 miles and have no problems with the motor.

I currently have a 1997 dodge ram 5.9, a lot of problems with this truck but now I have a hobby.

I love how everyone is talking shit about the Ford breaking. He didn't break you fucking no brain idiots if you know anything about the 99-03 7.3L powerstrokes is that you always have to check the clamps that hold the intercooler boot on just like on there turbo. Keeps them tight and you won't have a problem. My truck has 219,000 miles and still strokin hard with 4 inch lift 4x4, 35's, 4 inch turbo back, Edge evolution programmer, I like most diesels out but ill still smoke a new tinymax. Js

But tell that to my 6.0 2006 ford f-350. i had more problems with it then i do with my chevy at 98k the 6.0 had to be replaced due to a failing egr that cracked the head. then at 113k for the Exact same problem the truck was nothing but problems and always treated well and never over pulled. my 95 silverado has 293k miles on it. still goes strong original motor and transmission. so your logic is fucked.

@Anthony1999gtp My dad's 2000 f-250 7.3 has 380,000 miles and has not had any major problems. Everything is original. But when they replaced the 7.3 with the 6.0 it was suppose to be a low emission motor and had a major defect. It was majorally Navistar fault with the problems with the motor, that is why ford bought them out. The orginal 6.0 are one of the worst motors ever made, but I know people with the new 6.0 and have 200,000 miles and have no problems with the motor.

@1barsbars I agree with that statement. Ive had 2 dodge rams, an f150, and a nissan titan. I can tell you up front that nissan titan was one of the best trucks Ive had. Very fast little truck, and not too bad on gas. The f150 is slow as hell and has a terrible turning radius, when you get beat by a saturn, you know you have to get rid of that vehicle. I currently have a 1997 dodge ram 5.9, a lot of problems with this truck but now I have a hobby.

Duramax with Allison transmission is the best truck you can buy right now besides going to the dodge cummins.

@rcman123 ford would have filed bankruptcy too, but they had just taken out a 26 billion dollar loan FROM THE GOVERNMENT in 2006 and they are still getting billions of dollars in goevernment loans, just like chrysler and gm. and gm was 17 bil in debt, compared to fords 34 billion at the time of the bailout. know some facts before you try to talk some shit.

@chevyguy00z71, Im sorry to say you are right but you are also wrong. Ford did end up getting money from the government but it was in no real danger of going bankrupt. They just took a big loss. In 2008 they took some form of credit from the government to have a little bit of cussion because the market was still suffering. In 2006 they didn't take any big bailouts. Most of my resources have said the same thing, whether they are correct or not.

MMMM should probably change your blinker fluid also just to be safe, or make sure the gas you put in reads gas and not FUEL!!!!!
