@SilverPanther2312 I rooted it via chanfires program, and then flashed a kernel with build in recovery by using samsung galaxy flasher thats on the market, then just flash the rom from recovery :D

@Channyp13 You must have the Clockworkmod recovery installed first! Then you have to turn off you phone, wait for the little vibration so it's completely off. Then press volume up key + home key + power button. Hold on until you see the Galaxy S Logo.

The Galaxy S Captivate for AT&T you must, from off position, press both volume UP & DOWN & Then hold with power button until the Samsung Logo appears. After logo appears, release Power Button. When Recovery mode appears, release Both volume buttons.

Volume scrolls. Power button selects option.

Again, Samsung Galaxy S Captivate on AT&T.

nice video kid. An even better hint for command promt is to press the up key just one tap types everything again and you can cycle to previous commands

1. Press the Up and the Down button at the same time (yes both). I too thought that button was a Toggle which only did either Up or Down, but found that in fact it does do both.

2. At the same time, press the power button.

3. As soon as the Samsung / Vibrant logo comes up on the screen, release the power button.

4. Release the Up and Down buttons.

5. PRESTO IT WORKS

on the new Android SDK the .exe file is named "SDK Manager" and the "adb reboot recovery" is found under "platform-tools" so the new command would read "C:\AndroidSDK\platform-tools\­adb reboot recovery"

might be worth mentioning, that if ur recovery is 3e (froyo 2.2), the update zip wont read, and u cant get into clockworkmod recovery.. for anyone who cant get into CWM, search the xda forums for CFroot and there's a post there with downloads and instructions.. ;)

my battery is dropping down verry fast ... it barely lasted 1 day (before upgrade it lasted ~ 2 days) moderate usage.

I started to uninstall apps, no result, i evan did a factoy reset, still no result, it seems like android 2.2 or some background apps are realy suckin up my battery and don't know why and how to restore my power like it was before.

Ther are no active applicatons in program monitor, but in ram manager there are from 180mb to 216mb / 304mb,

I have a rooted Galaxy Tab, and figured the 3rd way (ROM Manager) was similar. I downloaded ROM Manager, downloaded the recommended ClockworkMod (specific to my GTab for Tmobile), and rebooted into recovery. I get a E:failed to very whole-file siganture, E:signature verifcation failed. I still get the standard blue text recovery menu. Am I doing something wrong?

@JeremyLeroy96 It'll put you in normal recovery, but if you select the "flash . zip from sd card" option, then it'll get you into the clockworkmod recovery. The easiest way, however, is to go into recovery mode straight from the Rom Manager app itself.
