Its a dragster and only does 8 seconds thats fast but not for a dragster. You people do realize that since the 70s there has been a Top Alcohol class of drag racing which a lot of drivers use Ethanol to power their cars right? Same with Pro Mod there are ethanol powered Pro Mod cars. So instead of using electricity why do we keep using Ethanol and Methanol?

@JCKustom13 What is the point in doing the same thing for 40 years? The Electric dragster uses only 1/2 kWh ($0.05 worth of energy) to do the run, while something like a top fuel dragster uses 12 Gallons of Nitromethane per run (at a cost of $200). It's all about developing technology.

man it's SO WEIRD to see a burnout that's virtually silent. I've just been programmed (along with most dragster fans) to expect a ridiculously loud v8 accompanying a burnout. Granted sound IS energy so since a conventional dragster is so loud, it's simply wasting lots of energy in noise alone. ntm reciprocating mass of the engine internals and exhaust gas expulsion. all energy that is esentially wasted.

Cool thing about electric motors, they go from 0-60 and 60-120 (and so on) in the same time. They dont have all the drag from combustion engines. The goverment is our slowdown, or we'd all be driving these on the street decades ago...

But you need perhaps to welcome the sparky racers and all the technology that is coming in soon, because that will extend the life of the oil reserves. In that way the internal combustion engine will be viable for more than the current estimate of 40 years. So if you want to keep and play with noisy smelly cars, and I love 'em too, get your house eco powered and drive an electric solar buggy to work the shops ;¬)

Electric is the way to go for drag racing.......more volts = more power......only has to go a quarter mile......a motor with one moving part......and you dot have to rebuild it every second run.....to tune it ..just plug in the laptop.

The time of 7.56 tells you how fast the car was. The time of 7.95 tells you how fast the car was combined with the driver's reaction time (ability to drive the car).

He could have waited ten seconds, his 1/4 mile time would still be 7.56. His reaction time would be ten seconds, his final time would be 17.56.

That's what "reaction time" practicing was all about... the split second fractional difference in dozing at the wheel or having your focus and "feeling the sync of the clock".
