he doesn't like the word atheist for many reasons, one of those could also be because of the way its been monopolized as a certitude from those who are ignorant. simply put, he is an atheist but most people haven't taken the time to look up the true definitions of atheism. I'd say that the majority of atheist would agree that it is not a certitude, and that is only an assumption.

You are wrong. Atheism is the believe that there is no god (of any kind). Agnosticism is the belief or view that one cannot know if there is a god OR if there is not a god. Human knowledge is limited to our experience i.e. you can't know what you have not experienced.

If there is a god and he send me to an eternal fire just for having some very logical and justified doubts about whether he does or does not exist....then he would be a shitty god indeed.
