Nice performance.....but aren't they (we) still the Samohi Vikings? Since when did a Viking band wear these plumed hats???

Well, yes we are, and the uniform is not entirely related to the school mascot. The uniforms are especially for comfort, they are thin for the hot weather in SoCal, and the hats are just cloth, basically like cowboy hats. Also, the uniforms designs are based on the older uniforms (blue, black and white, but still had plumed hats.).

Thin uniforms and cloth hats because of the heat? Good Lord, back in the 60's, we were tough......thick blue uniforms, shakos that were so hot you sweat poured down your ears......you had to be tough to march for Samohi!!!!
