My dominant foot is my right, but I always push off with my left foot. It's just more comfortable for me like that. I also stand up instead of sit on my seat (partially because I used to BMX a lot).

I wouldn't say use a particular gear, their are many different cassette variations. Find a gear that is soft and you find comfortable to start in.

@baluga94 The third lowest gear would be the third lowest speed gear. So the third biggest ring in the back and the middle ring up front would be a good place to start. You want to be able to generate enough torque to pop the front wheel off the ground with one or two pedal strokes.

u need a back brake to do it more then 3-4 secounds and standing up wheelies only last 3-4 secounds noobs so sit down and do it the right way with yr brake...

@airtrifle Try Sitting down and change gear untill you find one thats steady and feels good for YOU, the main thing is to get it up then hold a finger or two on the rear brake so when it's about to tip over just break and it will tip forward and if you can learn to match these you can keep it up while breaking.

Nice tut man im getting there 1 week practice and im doing all but left and right balance correctly (when my bike goes off sideways it dont wanna get back on track whatever i try) but great vid i feel ive learned something here also same as the other guy says i pull the brake while lifting so i just dont use it and the bike only flips 5% of the time

Thanx!. I actually learned how to do it on one trip. Not saying I can wheelie yet, but at least now I know how to do it. Just need to practice abit more. I found it hard though to keep one finger on the brake while doing it. The finger usually brakes when I pull up:S And I also feel i cant hold the bar tight enough when pulling up with one finger on the break.
