Lets say we don't pay for the imperialistic occupation, or fund health care. He is right on 1 thing. There are a lot of double talking going on in DC. In the end, it's all about the government dole, & how the pie gets sliced up. The taxpayer loses every time, because these projects are all funded with compound interest bearing loans, & bonds, etc. When there is not enough cash to go around, they print more, deflating $ value, causing rising prices. Either way you get less value for earnings.

I know in my heart that I am witnessing the unraveling of a short-lived empire that existed in its full form only since the end of WWII. All the qualities of a crumbling empire are present here, but it is financialization that will prove to be the clincher as it was with Spain in the 1600's and Britain in the early 20th century. american politicians talk about the war in iraq as the 'bad war' and afghanistan as the 'good war', but its the opposite. afghani people are 90% against the war & didn't used to mind the taliban as a power within (it wasn't the government it was just a military power within). In Iraq there is more disputes and differences in opinion between the local population about whether it was a good or bad thing. And if they say that afghanistan is the good war because of osama bin laden, well where is he?
