  • *looks at an item named "Great Gospel"*

    Sigh...

  • I don't like it when they let you build up a character just so you can lose it, know when the greatest healer ever joins my party I don't even bother anymore.

  • Wait, you guys mean the white girl died and the black guy didn't? Just kidding, love the storyline and length of the game. Playing FF13-2 and thinking man, all this effort into a game that doesn't let you know what is going on until the last 20% of the story. The future setting give both games limitless potential in creativity yet FF7 doesn't have gaping plot holes, such as why the people of Cocoon can't just live on the ground. Our floating city is going to crash? Better make another one.

  • In the theater of the Advent Children movie, when it shows her for a moment before she is to die.

My bro yelled out DIE BITCH DIIIIEE. Oh god. He got his ass kicked so bad.

  • @TheGuardianCore by the people in the theater?

  • @MrMinecraftio Hardcore Aerith Fanboys

  • @TheGuardianCore would have paid to see that

  • @MrMinecraftio I'm pretty sure everyone who was there paid for a show....and they got one XD

  • It gives me chills

  • So much for grinding to get that final Limit Break...

  • ....lifestream?

  • on my first playthru she was in my main party...and im just like FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • I like the ending, but the song for when the livestream comes up through the earth, I would've used something different...its too lighthearted i guess is the correct term...point is, it's too "soft" for something that rare to happen. THe planet itself was fighting meteor, should've used a more "powerful" song for that part.

  • Anybody else wish they woulda added vincent and yuffie into this scene if you'd recruited them?

  • Comment removed

  • This totally reminds me of RuneScape.

  • 2:44 is epic

  • Best mood change ever 0:25

  • This video game proves that video games arent just junk, some are beautiful pieces of art that bring together a great story you interact with for hours and days, Final Fantasy VII is the Mona Lisa of video games.

  • its no wonder ff13 sucked so much they worked to hard on the graphics that the game sucked rpgs must have a well thought out story thats why ff7 was a hit but shooters on the other hand dont need to have a story so they have all this space for graphics rpgs dont so thats why for future ffs they could foucus on story rather then graphics

  • @Aranexorsist kind of like when earthbound immortals came out... ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE graphics but people thought it was the greatest thing ever

  • I listen to this song while writing fanfics, and I find that I get much better results listening to this than anything else.

I suppose you could say Nobuo Uematsu wrote all my fanfics.

  • @KnightStalkerChess hahahahahaahah

  • The ending...

  • i cried to i LOVE u aris

  • i fucking cried like a man when she died

  • AERIS NOOOOOOO

  • If anyone noticed, the observation deck for the jet at the final cutscene of FF7 was the same observation deck for Shera in Advent Children. Cid just built Shera around the jet.

  • I don't understand why people say Cloud saved the world. Sure, he defeated the antagonists, but Aeris is the one who stopped Meteo, etc, etc.

Also, I think I discovered a plothole. If JENOVA and Sephiroth's remains were in the Lifestream, and the Lifestream touched Holy, why was there Geostigma? Bugenhagen specifacally said that Holy would eliminate anything bad for the Planet.

  • @darthaeris

Geostigma works like an illness developed by overexposure to lifestream, which the planet's life essence itself. It's a reaction developed by humans, not by the Planet.

  • @Japanesebuzzsaw

    Oh ok thx

  • @darthaeris Yes, but remember at the end of FF7, when Holy was supposed to stop the Meteor but it ended up magnifying it's power, causing the Planet to unleash the Lifestream? Ya, that'd be why.

  • thumbs up if u played this game within the past 5 years to try and get that happy feeling you got playing this as a kid

  • This EPIC soundtrack (along with many more) are being ruined by the stupid conversations that call eachother names and sh*t. why can't you just listen and enjoy the beautiful music and great memories you have from playing this game.

  • RIGHT, i'm finding the soundtrack to this game. Right now.

  • Anyone else think it would be hilarious to see Link appear on the highwind right at the end, play the Oath To Order, and have four giants toss the meteor back into space? ....Just me?

  • Can someone tell me WTF KOTR is & how the fuck do you get the supposed Safer Sephiroth

  • @ultris07 KOTR: Knights of The Round - Strongest summon in the game, in that it attacks several times. You get it on a secret island on the complest North-East of the map, but you need a gold chocobo

Safer Sephiroth: Second form of the Sephiroth boss. You need to beat Bizarro Sephiroth first. Also known to have a WAY TOO DAMN LONG attack called Supernova (it basically shows a 2 minutes movie EVERYTIME he attacks lol)

  • @ofnir123 Or you could get the flying Tiny Bronco

  • @ofnir123

Not in the Japanese version, it didn't.

  • I love this soundtrack so much. Nobuo Uematsu is the reason I started writing music, I heard his music 14 years ago and haven't stopped writing since.

  • The one dislike is Sephiroth. He's mad his plan failed.

  • sephiroth dislike this...

  • i don't even half way remember this song, it sounds like all of them mashed into 1 song, tifas theme, aeris... sephiroth, surly it was not in game? this "World Crisis

  • @RQS321 It's the song that plays during the very last scene in the game before the credits, with Holy and the Lifestream trying to stop Meteor and everything

  • I get chills and tears at the end every time when holy explodes and everyone has to turn away from the light, and then you see her for the last time. amazing screenplay, amazing music, amazing game, amazing everything. Just amazing.

  • @big504life where now crazy where lost in the fantasy :P

  • only one dislike, guess this shows how great the soundtrack of the game is, by the way sephirtoh, go search your own theme and dislike that one

  • Comment removed

  • @big504life inorite

  • @master08 Spot on, yo. I think video game evolution will continue once Squaresoft surgically removes that nasty Enix (Great companies by themselves, but not together) tumor from it's left arm, and comes back to show the world just what video games are: Projections of spirit.

  • @decoyoctopusra No i think video game evolution will continue when the console companies start getting their heads outta their asses and focus on innovative gameplay, storytelling, and development of new genres. Instead of this Microsoft Fagbox born "update the graphics every 3 years and deliver the same crappy shooters where you only add like 1 new thing like jet packs" COUGH... Halo Reach, COUGH... And try to sell me this shit for $60 instead of the previous new game prices of $50-$40

  • @matser08 Well said! I salute you.

  • @matser08 That's problem of one complete genre of game actually. SHOOTERS.. And it's not only on Xbox (hell, even multiplatform games do it, look a call of duty: take modern warfare, remove a few bugs, reduce the number of available loadouts, reduce the number of guns, remove vehicles, call it modern warfare 2, sell it more expensive than modern warfare 1)

  • @big504life Because this game showed that Video Game Evolution was possible. Because we wanted to believe in the fact that all life is connected. Because we actually cared about our planet back then. Because we knew through this game that corporate greed was going to ruin America and the world before anyone else did. Because this game proved that there was a Genre that you could rely on besides Platforming and First Person Shooters. Because this game signified the 1990's, the last great decade.

  • @matser08 Well said sir, this game is the so much like the real world...

  • @matser08

Not to be a downer, but I think you are giving it levels of depth that never actually existed.

  • @Discreetuserhandle Not to be a downer, but analysis and examination of evidence is one of the primary ways you reach conclusions like this. Its called understanding history and its effects on the present.

  • @matser08 Okay.

Because those thin connections you made totally show us how this JAPANESE game is symbolic for current day AMERICAN economics that nobody knew would be like this back then, amirite?

  • @Discreetuserhandle It was an exaggeration buddy on the economics part. The comment you just made shows you're an ignorant fool who is probably a pro corporate right winger. Everyone knew corporate greed was bad, especially in the economic perspective because big banking corporations and corrupt ones like Countrywide destroyed the American Economy by throwing out so many bad debt loans that they had to be bailed out or the banking system would have crashed. Trying getting your facts straight boy

  • @matser08 So now you are hurling shitty strawmans and ad hominem attacks?

You turned out to be even more of a faggot than originally thought.

  • @Discreetuserhandle Do you even understand what a fallacy is you dumbass? Get a life you're a faggot troll with no life besides the internet son. You obviously don't understand the fact that people are human beings, and if so you were probably dumb enough not to understand the plot and themes of this game. You will, and always will be a fool. Don't bother replying, I don't need to waste more time telling you how much of a retard you are.

  • @matser08 So more ad hominem attacks and "I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG OKAY IF YOU DON'T AGREE I'M GOING TO LEAVE AJGSDFG I'M SO MAD"

  • @Discreetuserhandle Lawl u mad bro? Yea u mad

  • @matser08 Now you are using shitty memes?

    Not really.

  • @Discreetuserhandle lawl u mad bro?

  • @matser08 No.

  • @Discreetuserhandle yea u mad

  • @matser08 All right, you're right. I'm so mad.

The white hot rage of 10000000000 suns.

  • @Discreetuserhandle you maddery.

  • @matser08 You've lost me.

  • @Discreetuserhandle yes because we all know levels of meaning are completely objective...lmao. give me a break, I agree with what people are saying

  • @DukatSG1

No there is meaning in there, but you are giving meaning that didn't exist through very thin connections.

  • @Discreetuserhandle Actually at the time the game came out, and when it was first played, the economic/environmental messages of the game were well understood by those who played it, including myself. The fact that many people feel it has been vindicated in hindsight does not mean they are inventing meaning that wasn't there, it's that the history that has happened since has given it new depth of meaning and people are experiencing it.

  • @DukatSG1

Yeah, because a bunch of Japanese people totally knew everything about the future of America that nobody else knew at all for some vague reason.

  • 3:44

  • 4:30

No one can stop the power of Sephiroth. Only the planet itself can decide now what will happen.

  • No, her name is not Aeris. Her name was Aerith in 1997 already. It was just mistranslated because the there is no american "th" in japanese and since she is "Earisu", she was called "Aeris" by accident. But her western name was thought to be "Aerith" like Sephiroth's was "Sephiroth" and not "Sephiros".

  • @big504life True. There is a really large line between being a fanatic and being obsessed. I thought it was good and its sequels were good too, but I didn't slobber all over it, and I'm not trying to offend anyone by saying this.

  • The reason I think FF7 is the most successful is because it hits the right notes so to say you have a main character (Cloud) who you like and grow attached to, you have an absolutely FANTASTIC story of Love, Death, Vengeance and Salvation, the soundtrack is ASTONISHING really beautiful composed pices of music, and Tifa has HUGE Fucking breast

  • @SuperForzee Only one?

  • @SuperForzee Come on man, Tifa is way more than that. I arguably find her the best devel-most well characterized character in the game, and one of the best characters in the series. And honestly? When people call FFVII overrated, it's comments like that that just prove their point.

  • @Arc13 Yeah I actually wished they DIDN'T give tifa the big boobs cuz that's like the ONLY thing people ever talk about on her! You are very right in this comment. I call this game the best for my own reasons, not cuz it's overrated or cuz it was the first game on ps1 or cuz we have a 'emo' leader. GAWD you gotta hate when people say crap like that, ya know?

  • @Isaac10best Well, I can understand those arguments to a point and that's what I was getting across with my comment, the fact that I'm actually able to understand why it's overrated is sad. Namely that a vast majority of fans like it and dislike others for all the wrong reasons. Like because Tifa is hot, never played any others before, graphics at the time, cause it's cooler, and more. Plenty of reasons to love the game but these frequent arguments are annoying.

  • @Arc13 Yeah, I get ya because I KNOW it gets overrated especially by the types of people that just give it its credit in the places that aren't as important, ya know? But I also gotta hate the people that UNDERrate it cuz of stupid reasons. Saying the graphics suck and that it was justa depressing game, and all that crap

  • @Isaac10best Well...I don't want to ruin a perfectly friendly conversation, and while they do have a certain charm to them after all these years, you gotta admit at least the overworld character sprites were a bit goofy looking, especially when compared to, well most anything else you'll find on the system. The battles and cutscenes looked phenomenal(and I still think they do), and the backgrounds were amazing, but the characters...I can't help but giggle when I load up the game.

  • @Arc13 Lols, it always killed me how the sprites looked all cartoonlooking while the cities and and buildings lookedall real/3d looking! But I still gotta admit that I like how the sprites look, I dunno why really. And how they dont have fingers always reminded me of the power puff girls

  • he used the first note of the games opening as the last note.

    uematsu is a fiend.

  • @GameMusicCompiIation Not only that, the last person you see (before the credits) is the first person you see in the opening :3

  • Comment removed

  • 7:54 aerith u_u

  • @deadloked94 it's aeris...

  • @Caleb5617 Aeris was a mistranslation, in every other game its Aerith

  • @96Nathan96 Yes, but in the original the default is Aeris... why change her name from the original English version, does it make a difference if her name is different from the japanese name as long as its the same as the original? not as much as if you completely change it on people. that's why her name is never said in Advent Children. And we're talking about two different companies when you say every other game, they had completely different translators after Squaresoft merged with Enix.

  • @Caleb5617 that merge never should have happened, they release complete cowpies of game now (compared to the old ones)

  • @dragondook as a company though they do have a lot more to deal with now to create a game than just a good storyline, merge or no merge, the new games will never feel as compelling. As we all know FF7s graphics and battle mechanics suffered because of it's huge (and great) storyline - but that's what makes it so likeable. However, even if Squaresoft ever had or Square Enix ever did release a remake it would never be as big because they would be so much to compete with and improve.

  • @Caleb5617 you have a good point.... I completely agree now....

  • For some reason this song reminds me Harvest Moon DS *-*

  • Ahh to jedna z moich ulubionych soundtrack z ff7 :p

  • This song is sw33t. It feels like it tells the story of the game in 8 minutes. Perfecto.

  • Oh come on, If you don't think this is the Greatest god damn game ever made, you never read the back of cd case.

  • Crying face.

  • They should make a movie about this. I'm not talking about something like Advent Children, that kinda sucked. (but only compared to the game, it's pretty decent on its own) I'm talking about a legit movie. As in, part 1: They blow stuff up and meet everyone and get Aeris killed. Part 2: They end up almost screwing over the whole world. Part 3: Diamond Weapon = destroyed and Hojo dies. A maze consisting of character backgrounds and a huge, long, epic battle scene like the end of the whole game.

  • @Firefromheaven906 I think there shouldn't be a movie because the game is at it's best and well like you said advent children was kinda sucky so normally it will suck any movie. One part in advent childeren i disliked was when cloud walks in the room at the bigging when he lock reno outside RENO doesn't act like he did in the game.

  • @Bobmarleyisthebest98

I understand about the movie thing. Like how they try to make books into movies and they end up sucking.

I agree about Reno - I liked him much better in the game because he wasn't so goofy and laid-back. Sure, he was a little in the game, but not as bad. Too bad they couldn't use Elena as their humor point instead of him.

  • @Bobmarleyisthebest98 Reno was comedic in the original Japanese game but the translators messed up and made him way more serious than in the Jp version. So you could say Reno in AC was more "true to character" than he was in the English version of FF7.

  • Calm, then BOOOOM then AH RUNZ AAHA then Tifa be chillin den TRIUMF den woawz and then DUM DUM DUUUM isdoom, den IS MOAR DEWM!!!! Hurryisrundewmcomin, then great escape, then calm unease, den IS MOAR DEWM, den WEZALGUNNADAI den kinda zelda theme for a bar den MOAR DEWM den a light NO MORE DOOM MIDGAR NOEZ BARRETT IS IN PH34R then Tim Burton movie, then DEN MOAR DEWM! and den kinda zelda thing again, deeenn AERITH!!! SHE LIVES!!! FWIIDUMB!! Runnin outta letrz lol TWAIUMF! GLOREH! Best FFevar cry.

  • there needs to be an orchestrated version of this.

  • at first the music is calming and relaxing and also reminds you of Aeris, but then you hear music that's like "the world is gonna end" and stuff like that, then it's relaxing and then it's not relaxing and it keeps switching, well at least at the beginning......

  • What a FF medley!!

  • *Ends fangirl rant* :p

  • I love this track from how it mashes character themes up at the start, to how I can tell what part in the song is where Meteor is about to hit Midgar (3:45), where you can hear the hopelessness and desperation.5:54 onwards is just pure magic as hope is slowly built and then becomes poweful and overwhelming at 7:06.

Then the last 3 notes at the end that echo the beginning of Bombing Mission, with Aerith's face, just shows you what a piece of art that FFVII really is behind the outdated pixels.

  • @Hippodignity19 couldn't have said it better

  • why must everyone be so mean, I mean really if a person doesnt like this than let them dont call them bastards/idiots/fags/ect.

Now this doesnt mean Im one of them cause I love and have the game, I will always love this game for everything in it

  • who dares to dislike this theme...

  • @xXxXZakuDeathXxXx

Lol, I know 3 types of people who would dare dislike this vid!:

    1: Bastards

    2: Idiots

    3: Both!

  • Aaaaah! So this is the original Final Fantasy VII's version of "Fulfilled Desire"... "Fulfilled Desire" comes from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. Just FYI. =)

  • Also, Final Fantasy 7's soundtrack is probably the only video game soundtrack that I know all of the songs by heart. And that's only from playing the game. I don't own the OST or anything.

    It's pretty fantastic.

  • And on another note...

There better NOT be a remake... Square Enix isn't half of what Squaresoft was...

  • @wretchedsnowman1 Strictly speaking, Square Enix is like, 80% of what Squaresoft was. I know the president of Squaresoft is the president of Square Enix. Pretty sure most of the company is headed by Squaresoft employees.

I also would welcome a remake of Final Fantasy 7, but I feel like it's too late. If they were gonna do it, they shoulda done it before any of this other Final Fantasy 7 stuff (AC, Crisis Core).

Totally open to the concept though. I'd XXX in my pants to see FF7 in HD 3D.

  • @TheIncognitusMe Did you play FFXII, how about Dirge of Cerberus? Well these are the two reasons I don't trust square enix... they made a final fantasy complete duplicate of star wars (FFXII) and they demonstrated their capacity to butcher a series (DoC). I don't care if the staff is the same, the quality isn't.

  • 4:30 Holy is having the opposite effect!? O__O Oh noes...

    5:55 Wait, what's that? =D

    7:55 ='}

  • well I think it's nostalgic that's why it does so much to people.

  • FF7 is the best 1 ITS A FACT! Thats why they made a Movie out of it.

  • @SolidRevolverVII They made a movie out of it because it's popular. Not because it's the best. As for the "best" Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy 7 is strikingly similar to Final Fantasy 6 in a LOT of ways. The major difference is the execution. Final Fantasy 7 created an unbelievably cool kind of atmosphere, I believe, because graphics, style, interaction between characters, and the music. It sucked you in.

It was a well done game.

But it is not the best.

    Though it is my favorite.

  • i hate people who cry about music. stop being a whiny bitch. thumb me down if you want but stop fucking cry.

  • its an ok game. the main character is a bitch. the music was good for midi.

  • great ending to a great game...i have to say this game gets too much hype but i dont blame people...this game is pretty damn awesome

  • I played ff7 10 years and i still play!! Because is my best game ever .....

PLEASE!!!! REMAKE FF7 TO PLAYSATION 3!!!

  • @Laguna49 u can buy it on ps3 but its the same one

  • YEAH PLEASE REMAKE FF7 TO PLAYSTATION 3!!!!! THE BEST HISTORY EVER ;)

  • @Laguna49 u can buy it on ps3, i mean ps network but its the same T.T YEAH THEY SHOULD REMAKE WITH FFXIII GRAPHICS!

  • I love how it mixes together so many different themes from the game, so seemlessly. It's awesome!

  • @blackwingangel04 indeed. Uematsu is a musical genius.

  • This track is something more than just commemorating the end of the game, It is an artistic masterpiece that sets the tone for life itself. The music starts out gently, going through the ups and downs of your life from being born to the emotional climax of saying goodbye to your loved ones on your death bed. Atleast i believe uematsu composed it like that. For gods sake buy his album!

  • This theme is sooooo awesome.

So nice, then hardcoreish, then sweet, then hardcoreish again, then beautiful. :)

It may not be all hardcore, but still, it's great.

    I love it. ^^

  • @big504life

Because this really is one of the best games ever created. No if ands or buts about it.

  • FF4 was the best one >.>

    FF7 was second best.

  • FFVI > FFVII > Everything else possible.

*Prepares for the myriad of dislikes*

  • lol thats what i think too! my next question...remake? yes or no? (FFXIII tomorrow!!!!)

  • FFVII is NR.1 no matter what ppl say

  • 5:54 hear come the tears :)

  • @kiamick to me, it's hear come the "waterfalls"!!!! =D

  • @kiamick No they come at 0:45

  • ok i have a theory, Final Fantasy was the first i played, and it is my all time favourite, all final fantasys made after 7 havnt been as good as 7 in my opinion. my theory is: because 7 was my first i am attached to it and therefore like it more? or is it just immense? id like to hear from other people who started on different FFs and see if they prefer their first to the others. cheers guys

  • No that is a very valid point, it is the same with me. However, I must say for its time the story is very in depth. I believe since it was the first for the next gen console at the time they went all out. I think in terms story, FFX is just as good, but you always favor that first experience in life.

  • @Blakbro2k: It depends, really. I mean, it depends whether or not you favor the first gaming experience. I, for example, started out of FF8, and well... It was great, all right, no doubt about it, but somehow I can't help the feeling that the characters from FF9 are a bit more, approachable, so to say.

  • @kiamick I first played 7 and it still is to this day my all time fave game, 10 is second in my opinion

  • thats common. i have a incredible loyalty to pokemon gold, which, despite being a emulator copy, was the first of the main pokemon series games i played. thios has carried on to heartgold next month

  • if loving final fantasy 7 makes me crazy then crazy i am!

  • 5:55 - 8:07 i cant do anything but cryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • This was the first RPG I ever beat. Seriously for real...this game is what made me go out to play all sorts of RPGs from Final Fantasy to Suikoden to Breath of Fire and so on.

  • One of the rare times I was sad to beat a game... I didn't want it to end. :(

  • @CyprusFinestGooner

If you finish FFX you'd feel pretty sad too ;).

  • It's so weird that you should say that... I played FFVII when it first came out over ten years ago, and it was the first and last Final Fantasy game I played... until yesterday when I decided to play FFX because I heard it was good (plus Tiuds kinda looks a bit like Cloud, heh). Very strange coincidence dude!!!

  • @CyprusFinestGooner

Hha totally ^^. FFX was my first and it is indeed awesome ;).

  • yeah well who the fuck are you ? i havent meant to offend someone but man youre such an asshole. what kind of dude are you ? well maybe you knew it before reading this but why the hell post such a comment ? i never said :suckers!!! i know more than you! or something like that have i?

  • you are a strange person. try playin a different game

  • i am german und nur weil ich mich in english nicht so gut ausdrücken kann musst du nicht gleich an die decke gehen alter

  • i love hearing this everytime i beat the game =)...its so sad tho

  • theres a spacial report book square made and while you read it (the book is about aerith thoughts in the lifestream, and stuff. anyway you will learn that the lifestream that rescues the world......... it was aerith^^. she not just prayed for holy. man this game totaly pwns every other game.

  • Arieth is so well done as a character she didn't need to be there to be a driving force. Few characters are ever given such care, that what made this game epic (among other things).
