Shun Goku Satsu can only be Blocked by Emptying your soul, because the technique destroys the soul itself along with the body. That is why gen empty his soul in time before akuma Shun Goku Satsu him and Gouken did the same but mistimed it so he was stuck in a comma and they thought he was dead.

I'd say Guy would be able to defeat Evil Ryu. Now I'm pretty sure that is not canon, I'm just going by what I've read. In a Street Fighter comic, Guy was fighting Ryu who was brainwashed. Ryu used Shungokusatsu on Guy, but due to Guy's ability to fight multiple enemies, he was able to block single every punch within it, and from there was able to defeat him.

Can that be counted as an answer to his question?

Like you said, the comics (I'm assuming you read the Udon comics) aren't canon. Shun Goku Satsu can't be blocked, so blocking individual hits doesn't make sense. To defeat him, it would have to be somebody who hasn't committed a lot of sins. Akuma stated that Shun Goku Satsu kills the person using their past sins against them.

Gen was the only one to survive Shun Goku Satsu because he cleared his mind and soul, also Gouken had survived it as well because he filled himself with nothing. (At least i'm sure that's how Gouken survived it...i can't remember at this time.)

If you empty your mind and soul you will be able to avoid the Shun Goku Satsu's lethal property like Gen did and Gouken did (though it's implied Gouken was less proficient at it than Gen was due to him having far less sins than Gen and being knocked unconscious for years. Also in a pre match intro Gen and Akuma are both shown blocking each other's most lethal attacls)

Supposedly Ryu has the potential to beat Akuma, but at the moment he shouldn't be able win. But Akuma is a lot older than Ryu, so in the end Ryu would most likely beat Akuma due to Akuma's old age more than anything.
