Point being...we can argue this all day but until you can prove that within the modalities in which you train can be quantifiably measured and provide evidence suggesting that isolation of muscle groups over metabolic conditioning is better. Then you have no case.
What you seem to not be able to realize, (due to your inability to show people any sort of respect in a debate and using one full post just to swear and degrade) your arguing w something much bigger than you, not me, but CrossFit.
The fact that you think kips are not synergistic allows me to know you do not understand the physiology of the body under movement. Kips do make you stronger. And yes your right they are easier when the WOD calls for a higher rep count.
CrossFit is NOT bodybuilding, crossfit does NOT focus on isolation. I use to BB, I use to be 195 and thought I was something. Im one 168 now and stronger than I was when I was BBing. I can do more strict pullups, bc of doing kips....
PS- Next time you run out of material on the subject at hand...try to be a little more mature and see if you can keep from resorting to swearing and degrading the other individual. Its immature and all it does is make you look bad. :-)
Rofl! I didn't run out of material on anything cutie. Incase your retarded ass has yet to realize, there's a maximum amount of characters you are allowed in a post. There were characters remaining for me to use, so i thought I'd just sum up your sexual preferences in those 3 characters. It doesn't make me less mature by calling you a fag, I just solve problems differently, I'll degrade you if i feel like it. It doesn't make me look bad, besides I could care less what queers on yutube think of me
They are called butterfly kips...and they are more advanced than normal kips....but obviously because you CANT do them you think they arent "substancial" enough. Word to the wise: "dont knock it till ya try it, and dont act like you know what your saying when you havent done the research."
..I would be suprised if you could get even 1 butterfly kip...
I'd love to see you do 100 pullups for time, "strict" form. Call me in 10 days when you finish. Again YOU obviously do not know what your knocking because you dont understand the REASONING behind it. Since you have done it TWICE already...post a video of you doing it! I'd love to see YOUR FORM since its SOOOO easy and DOESNT COMPARE to a strict pullup. my strict pullups are up HIGHER than ever by 10 reps BC of kips. So you MUST be right because you OBVIOUSLY know what your talking about!
Lol, no wonder you have "Moody" in your name. 100 strict pullups, I do that 3 times a week, in a row obviously not.... I don't know what I'm knocking? That doesn't make any sense you illiterate fuck. I know the reasoning behind them, It's to increase reps and develop flexibility in the shoulder. And you clearly know shit all seeing as how your cute little butterfly kips are for people with little upper body strength or are too heavy for real pull ups. They're based on momentum, not strength. Fag
Wow, so mature in your wording you truly are 18. You are so right...you know it all man. Im so sorry for misjudging your 12th grade naive perspective and understanding of fitness. My multiple certifications, and 6+ years in the fitness industry hold no contest to your astounding fitness experience and intellect....but just so you understand crossfit and butterfly kips a bit better here are my 2 cents...
1.) You state that she has "pitiful form", if you truly understood the butterfly form you would see that her form is near perfect. But because you have NO comprehension of the butterfly kip you think the form is inadequate.
2.) I like that you looked up some forum thread to figure out what the purpose of the butterfly kip, or kipping pullups in general are used for. Nice try. We dont concentrate on what one muscle group can do at a time.
I'm not retarded guy, I know a lot about pull ups and when you do kipping pull ups you're obviously going for higher reps because it's less difficult, it's the same with any other exercise. I didn't try anything bud, oh, and there's nothing to synergistic about butterfly kips.
Rather we focus on MetCon workouts. we aren't particularly concerned with how much of the power output is being done by which body part, only that total power output be as high as possible.
The above statement mentions NOTHING about people who have little upper body strength or are too heavy for real pullups. Thus we look to "more workforce in less time at a higher intensity = greater power output" This greater power out put makes us STRONGER overall.
Butterfly kips wont increase power output more that strict pullups bud. It's stupid how you're trying to make it seem like this is a good synergistic exercise that develops strength everywhere. It really doesn't, you would see better results from "ACTUAL" synergistic exercises, or even just focusing on a particular body part, your theory on the effectiveness of butterfly kips is illogical in my opinion.

wait wait wait...
is it me or is she not doing a pull up
rather...kicking her legs out and, as a result, moving up a bit?
sorry to be a party pooper.

Yes this has to be hard on the shoulder and elbow and wrist joints. Better fewer slower controlled reps.
strong1235 2 years ago
I don't quite understand -- why not simply use sports gloves to protect your hands on this exercise?
bluewaterrider 2 years ago
Dang, that's hard core. Y'all should try the same thing with strict pullups - probably not so hard on the hands :) Awesome Terra!
