  • Troppo bravo...il migliore!!!

  • Grandissimo Azzolini!!!

  • no dude , he's one of the best bassonist in the world , he's amazing!!!!

  • .. to be able to study with this guy... dream..

  • Padsmce Ignorant.. amateur..

  • great job.......i'm a bassonist too and i can admit that is a very good performance....

  • Honestly, I don't like this Villa-Lobos piece.

But Sergio Azzolini is a different kind of bassoonist. Each performance I've heard is charged with an intense energy that completely overtakes the hall. His Gubaidulina is miles above all others, and his Jolivet is rivaled only by Dag Jensen's. Even the difficult-to-like Hindemith concerto for bassoon and trumpet is wonderful in his hands. His treatment of this Villa-Lobos piece is more of the same. Absolutely wonderful.

  • Ok. you amazing bassoonist I've never heard of. I am obviously waisting my time with you. Stop acting so mature because you are not. I was just trying to be friendly with you and give anyone interested some backround on the piece you obviously don't know that well (even if you keep saying you know it so well, and you "played" it and "orchestrated" it.

    I m done here.

  • "The Ciranda das Sete Notas (Round Dance of Seven Notes) for bassoon and strings, an original piece by Villa-Lobos written in 1933, was inspired by the ciranda, a children's round dance. Although Villa-Lobos often avoided using traditional forms found in European music, this piece is organized in four sections, played with little or no pause. The opening section, which should sound almost improvised, is followed by a scherzo complete with a haunting trio.

  • PS If you have recordings of your own I would to hear them!

  • He gives the music direction! There is a difference between rhythm and pulse. He ALWAYS keeps the pulse going! The Style of the piece requires this sort of improv way of playing due to the nature of ciranda being an improv dance. He DOES know the rhythms; I don't have any doubts about that. But he DOES choose to manipulate them, it's not a simple beginner mistake.

  • Note: joke and great do not ususally go in the same sentence about a performance... unless ....it's a ...great joke! HAHA

  • 1. I did NOT say ANYWHERE my opinion is the only one(I don't think either).

    2. NOT ok to call a world class performance a joke, because THAT is Harsh (or retarded)! He is where he is for a REASON!

    3. AS YOU SAID you don't have to agree with me. It just happens that I feel strongly about it and it is something I have heard from most of my bassoon buddies, and not only, that DO know the piece, thus the comment" he is known to have the top interpretation"...

  • Wow, what a find! I love listening to Azzolini and seeing him actually perform is a real treat. Thanks for putting this up.

  • What are you talking about? Sounds like the piece to me, and well played! I can tell why he's one of the top players in the world.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game!

  • You're a joke

  • 1. He sounds incredible, not "well" (btw, for your knowledge, the correct form is "good"). He is known for having the top interpretation for this piece.

    2. You are a joke for saying something like that about a world class musician like him.Judging from your comment I bet you are really famous too with lots of experience, with extended knowledge about music of various styles to make such a BOLD comment. Hint: note the sarcasm) :)

    3. He DOES play what's written and lots more.

    That is all.

  • Both comments are for

    violinista87.

PS I hope you read this, and learn to refrain from retarded comments like these in the future. Do yourself a favor and remember that and you will have a happier life.

Better yet, got to your young friends and pretend you are a musician and that you actually make a difference in the musical world. Yeah...

  • thanks for uploading great performance, quite impressive

    saludos desde mexico

  • This is quite amazing!!!!

For those who don't know Sergio Azzolini is one of the best bassoonists/recording artists/musicians/teachers in the world! This video is a real treat! Thank you so much grahss69!!!! I would give it 10 stars!!
