i don't think that non interventionism is a strategy forever, however the USA's economies in ruins because of their foreign policy, they need to pull out for about 30 years, influence through trade like china
He should've been president in 1988 and somehow remain president for as long as he sees fit. If that were so in this utopia I could see fewer americans working under him than now with the current depression looming before us. The difference, however, would be that under Paul the country would be so rich and wealthy that many of us wouldn't need to work. There would be more parents able to stay home and take care of the home if they so chose which could potentially lead to lower crime rates...
Everyone should youtube the film "Freedom To Fascism" by Aaron Russo. Once you watch that film, ALL OF IT, you will have a basic understanding about what's going on and why military bases outside of the United States is a bad idea. Remember, everything in government has to be payed. Watch the film.
Mohamed Mosedec (Iran) was a thief that tried to steal British property. The USA rightly came to the aid of our ally. The British had demonstrated thru-out Iran's history a willingness to renogiate the oil revenues. Mosedec was greedy and tried to steal oil equipment that did not belong to him. This thief reaped what he sowed...
wow you couldn't be more completely wrong. Read "All the Shah's Men". How was the oil in the ground the property of Britain? Last I checked it was the property of the country it was located in. Mohammad Mosaddeq just wanted the same deal that the Saudi's and Americans had which was a 50/50 split. Not everything for the British and nothing for the Iranians. The British NEVER wanted to negotiate with the Iranians. Please re-read your history.
I need to read??? I never said the oil was British property. I specifically said "equipment". You need a lesson in reading comprehension. The oil drilling equipment, infrastructure, and the labor find the oil belonged to the brits. It was this property the Iranians tried to steal. The original terms for the loan would have expired YEARS before the nationalization but the Iranians kept renegotiating with the Brits. And the brits renegoiated w/ them though they were not bound to do so.
then again, our involvement in sovereign nations civil affairs is only us being the worlds police and only us spreading morality isn't it?..i guess it's all necessary if we lived in your fantasy.
when are u people going to realize that we have a military industrial complex in full swing, and that we'll look for any reason on earth to involve ourselves in wars and military affairs?..Mosaddeq steals oil equipment, so we send our men and women to die and kill for Britians stolen oil equipment?.and u think this is rational and necessary?..something needs to give with this nutjob war-mongering mentality..it's not a video game..it's human blood.
The world is full of cowards who run from evil rather than confront it. A man that will not protect the lives and property of his family is no man... A country that does the same and abandons its friends is a country of cowards and will eventually fall to tyranny. The standard in this world is for evil to multiply and expand. The exception is countries who confront evil and destroy it. Mosaddeq's theft was properly confronted. A coward runs from these confrontations. The brave standfast.
the pursuit of morality is NOT the initial reason we send our troops into countries. if u believe that for one second, then you're as nieve as they come. i'd love to believe it's all about morality, but it isn't. any realistic person would see that. and sure, if we have an ally under attack, we should help..but,stolen oil equipment isn't grounds to send our men and women to die. Britian should and can take care of that themselves.
this isn't defense..it's empire building. 761 bases in 150 nations isn't defense. it's not even over-kill defense. it's an empire. we're not building an empire. we're already an empire. and for u to think that spending around $1 trillion on this insane "defense" is necessary, only illuminates your paranoid, aggressive, war-wongering mentality. that's 1 trillion dollars that could go to something we actually NEED..but, when we involve ourselves and provoke war, i guess we do need it huh?
One of the roles of govt is to protect US citizens and protect US property...even on the seas and other countries. Those overseas bases is what allowed us to deal with those those somalia pirates. Also, treaties w/ allies should be honored and bases are necessary to honor those treaties and act as a deterent to aggression. Did you know by treaty should the Chi-Coms attack Tawain the US will be at war w/ Com-China? When you get older, you'll realize utopia is just a young mans dream.
761 bases in 150 countries is just for protection huh? open your eyes. how much is for intimidation and power, and how much is for morality missions? intimidation provokes. provocation invites problems. those problems esculate into wars. we know this. but our foreign policy ceases to change. we want war, and we want chaos. it's huge business.
i'm realistic. i don't foresee utopia. i simply foresee a potential for huge improvement. u don't..u accept it as is. you're aged and without passion.
You don't know what I foresee. Yet...you pretend to know. Human nature has not changed the last 5000 years and it won't change the next 5000 years. I see the world as it is and advocate policies that operate within that understanding. Every word you write screams of passion w/o knowledge. Read some histories of the most successful civilizations. Understand what made them successful and what made them fall. Only then you can speak w/ armed reason instead of your youthful fantasies...
"A country that does the same and abandons its friends is a country of cowards and will eventually fall to tyranny".-- You mean 'friends' like Saudi Arabia, a tyranny, a theocracy, which we support heavily with our military aid, yet where 15 of the 19 hijackers came from? Whom placed an oil embargo in '73 on us and our other friends in the West? We buy some of our oil from them, right?
Ahhhhh....the strawman argument. Falsely assign an argument to another. Put on the white hat and refute that argument. It is a crude and low-brow tactic usually employed by scumbag politicians. Our current president loves this tactic. I'm not impressed. Go find someone that claims S.Arabia is our friend and argue w/ them. I will not play your games. Clearly any discussion w/ you is pointless. And for your information, I see S.Arabia as an enemy of the USA.
"And for your information, I see S.Arabia as an enemy of the USA."--Me too. Well, I understand where you stand now. One good idea I liked from McCain was drilling off our shores, and he seemed against govt. spending with these banks which I heartily agreed with. I would support any action(s) against N. Korea 100% if need be. They are an obvious threat to peace.
except your ignoring what happen. We knew Iran was getting nukes before Iraq, we knew North Korea was getting nukes before Iraq. In fact not disarming North Korea was, in retrospect, a big mistake. On the other hand, Libya dismantled its nuclear program after the invasion of Iraq. So your statement completely falls on its face. If anything, its "get a nuke and we WILL attack you" as may be the case very soon with Iran.
How have you falsified the aforementioned comment in any way ??? All you did is use empty rhetoric and extrenous declamations which prove absolutely nothing !!!! BTW, Name someone who thinks Saudi is our friend ?? Bush, Obama and 6 presidents before them claimed they were Us allies !!!! We supply fighter jets and missiles to them. We supply weapons to our enemies ???? How noble of us !!!
A person falsely claimed I thought SArabia was a US ally and proceeded w/ a strawman argument. Your repeating that same strawman argument. If you wish to argue w/ someone who thinks SArabia is an ally, then go find someone that thinks that way... If you would have bothered to read the exchanged, you would have known my position. I shall no longer waste my time w/ youtube nitwits like your self who are too lazy to read and comprehend before firing their verbal bullets...
First of all, Saudi arabia IS A US ALLY !!!! Thats a fact, not a matter of opinion. We provide weapons for them and train their army, Saudis actully hve lobbies in the US congress, every president since FDR has been friendly with them and th US didn't even do anything about the 9/11 saudi hijackers. You don't really care about fcts do ya ?? You must be an inbred redneck !!!!! I'm too lazy to read ??? Bitch, your inbred ass probably doesn't even know how to read !!!!
Oh? Please cite the treaty the the USA signed w. S.Arabia confirming this alliance. Such treaties have been signed w/ S.Korea, Taiwan, UK, and others. E.g. If China attacks Taiwan, the USA is obligated to go to war against China. No Treaty = No alliance. And if you can't prove this alliance via a treaty then some might say you're an uninformed nitwit who pretends to know more than he really does... Prove your assertion... You claim to care about facts so cite the treaty. :)
That's just retarded !!!!!! th US hasn't signed any such "mutual defense treaties" with Isreal, Egypt, Argentina, Kuwait, Morocco and a plethora of other countries, that doesn't mean they are not our allies !!!!! What a stupid argument !!!! No treaty, no alliance ??? What an ignoramus statement !!! Just look at all the support we give to the Saudi's. Would we treat a neutral or an axis country the way we treat Saudi ??? Use your brain for once in your life !!!!!
That's only because they have oil. Their a bunch of wahabist freaks, the day we don't rely on foreign oil is the first day we don't give a shit about Saudia Arabia.
But on a different note, Saudia Arabia is supposively beneficial in fighting the War on Terror. Almost hard to believe since their extreme ideology is aligned with AQ, but supposively true... If so, they will stay a partner.
The USA imports their oil primarily from Canada and Venezuela. But your premise is flawed. Business relationships have never equal friendship. The USSR and Nazi Germany were huge trading partners. And were they friends?
I'll admit I don't know too much about trade except for these two points:
1. We may have traded for a while with Nazi Germany but towards the end we were jacking their priceless trade secrets to out-compete them. They were more advanced than us in many ways.
2. The strongest voices of those who favor the coup in Honduras (lobbyissts, congressmen) are paid for by the business community that has interests there.
Per the Honduron constitution presidents may serve only 1-term and if they try to change the constitution on term limits the must first resign from office. The Honduron supreme court ruled him to be in violation and he refused to resign from office. He persisted and then the supreme court ordered him removed from office. A member of his own party succeeded him. These are the facts and they can not be disputed...
that's the propaganda and it is disputed. the referrendum was non-binding. had it been binding, he would not have been able to run again anyway, since it was to be held on the day of the election of his replacement.
no the real reason behind the coup was that he raised the minimum wage. it happened in Brazil before, its just history repeating itself.
the legislative and judicial branches are some of the most corrupt in the world. the votes of the Honduran people outweigh gov't officials IMO
the US military empire costs us so much money it's obscene. it's a large contributing factor to the dire situation of our economy. it needs to stop. we need to follow the advice of our founders. we need to have a non-interventionist foreign policy. that doesn't make us cowards. during these times, it makes us intelligent and caring of OUR people.. we need to start worrying about ourselves.
I doubt you have any idea what % of the USA GDP is spent on the US military. As a % of GDP it is quite modest. The main financial problems the USA suffers is entitlements. And I bet you have no idea the US casulties that occurred during the coup against Mossaddeq. Do you? You don't think. You just react and recite talking points that others have given you. I forget more international history and politics than you will ever learn in a lifetime. Yes, I agree. One of us is quite naive.
lol I hardly think the % of gdp is relevant , just the % of government spending. Investment consumer and net exports dont matter in this lol why are you even talking about the gdp? But anyhow, If you dont think that our forgien policy worsens the economy then your insane. Not only does it take more government spending and thus taxes , but it also often raises the prices of imports . it may not effect the whole gdp directly , but in several around the corner ways it does.
Did you actually read the previous conversation I had w/ itzahazylife? I don't think you did. Your post is filled w/ so many false premises it would take 500 words to expose your lack of reading comprehension. E.g Your strawman argument that there is no relation between 'forgien policy' and the economy... If you can, find someone who says that, then go have an argument w/ them. I care not. At least Itzahazylife could form comprehensive arguments. Your post was a chaotic word salad.
As much as Obama is the 'hope' for America right now, Ron Paul is truly the new "news" People that like Obama, would love Ron Paul. That's fine,...its human nature for everyone to have jumped on the Obama bandwagon,...he should do fine. But in time,...this Paul character needs to run this joint, called the U.S. of A. We just gotta facebook, google promote him,....and get all the university kids to know of him.
ron paul should be shot and killed. he is smart, honest, and doesn't bullshit. what the hell is wrong with him. i hate him. it is the duty of God's land and his people (U.S.A.) to nuke the shit out of everybody in the world with a mere whim of one person.
I am soo glad we have a right to chose! The third party is going to win this election! Can you imagine peace and honesty in our government! Everybody working together no matter he race or gender. This is too big to stop. People have had enough of this corruption. Party doesnt matter..Its about the heart..Why are thes third party candidates comming together? They know whats up!
Unfortunately, and apparently, people have *not* had enough of corruption, as November 4th showed us. The healthiest race our country could have participated in would have been between Paul and Obama, and I have serious doubts that Obama would have been able to win against so worthy an opponent - unfortunately, "those in charge" know better than to let someone like Paul get in the mix and shake things up. Thus, McCain and Obama both raced for the same thing, with (slightly) different methods.
I agree a 100%..I am giving up on this place. There is no integrity at the high levels of our gvt. I will push for Paul/Ventura if thy run in 2012. That is if were still here as a nation. I dont understand why so many people cant read through the 2 party bullshit. More war is comming I believe. Obama will change nothing! Marketing ploy! Thats it. Ok take care.
OMG are you for real? Ive never heard something so historical incorrect. You cant praise evil for collapsing on it self. Soviet saw the power from USA and then flipped side when they dident belivie Hitler would win anymore.
DING!!You are RIGHT!!,,intervention in WW1 caused WW2!!! We entered the war after Germany was technically beat. The U.S. wanted to have a say in the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler, who fought in WW1(and got 2 Iron Crosses for bravery, yes he was a Dictator but he was not a coward) hated France and Britain for the disgrace of the Treaty that Germany suffered!!!
hitler fought in ww1 ur right...but he was a low grade simple soldier....Treaty of Versailles bassicly screwed the germans...no why wonder ww2 happend with full support of his people...how did the germans got tht militar power and money??..yea american support...

His domestc policies are horrid. The guy doesn't understand jack crap about th edution system or other important aspects of the domestic issues in America today. His foreign policies are spot on though. IT also doesn't help he is in the wrong party for the policie he espouses for this cycle and that he has horrible oratory skills.
george bush won 2 elections and hes got worse oratory skills. important issues like the drug war? 5000 black males per 100,000 black males are in prison, under aparteid in south africa only 900 black males per 100,000 were in prison. 69 billion tax dollars a year to stop people from doing drugs they have a right to use. Your politician supports the drug war, war in iran, voted for the patriot act, voted for the iraq war. your politician is pushed by the media because it has special interest
Sorry bro but it looks like you know pretty much nothing about economics or history.
Why do you think it is that during the 50s college tuitions had real (even when adjusted for inflation) prices that were a fraction of todays? Because there was no government backed loans and regulations driving up prices.
Why do you think that people like Abe Lincoln were able to get a better education than todays standard, quicker, and cheaper? Because there were only private schools and no teachers union.
Socialism, mercantilism, interventionism: Whatever you want to call government interference in the market it is an ass backwards system that always fails.
Free market capitalism is the only system based on science. It is time for us to embrace this fact and move on.
I totally agree with you. Amazing debate with substantive points, Paul did amazing and Doug Casey blew me away. I love that Ron Paul gravitates even towards people like Casey.
So let me get this straight, we should back down to a bunch of Osama humping Radical Islamic idiots that are willing to kill themselves to get 72 Virgins.
For no reason? Saddam's regime murdered upwards of 600,000 innocent people. They hate freedom and they want to crush democracy, and yet so many Americans want THEM to win.
The first gulf war? That has nothing to do with the civilian casualties in this war. Even if you do add on the casualties from the gulf war it is not even close to millions. How about you learn how to post facts, not fantasies.

Murders? Can you explain yourself please. You act like the United States is comparable to Mao's China, or Stalin's Russia. This is why you guys get no credit these days, you throw out nonsense and act like its fact. NWO is a fairy tale, if you believe in that you might as well believe in trolls or goblins.
We put Mao in. Rockefeller called it the greatest social experiment ever performed. Stalin was an ally. We supported him and helped cover up the atrocities. You put me in a group with "you guys" and that shows you for what you are - a bigot. You think of people as members of groups rather than individuals. You have no respect for individual liberty if you think there is a difference between killing 90,000 and 900,000. Both are extremely unamerican.
You said we murdered millions of people, and it was a claim that you couldn't back up. You say we are reducing populations worldwide, does that mean you are an NWO conspiracy theorist?
Murder is a charge, and the world court has yet to convene on Mr. Bush's war crimes or crimes against humanity. I am not a NWO conspiracy theorist. I meet NWO scum every day. I fight the info-war by pointing out that murder is wrong. If you think 90,000 is okay, then you are complicit with mass murder.

The 88,000 were not murders they were civilian casualties, most of them were the result of islamic extremist violence or suicide bombings. You say that 88,000 isn't ok, but if you were calling the shots saddam's kill count would be much higher than 88,000 since 2003.
The attacks on your liberty are being driven by a group of people(NWO etc) or they are being driven by random forces. I just hope you understand that the attack is there, no matter who is leading it.
The attacks on your liberty are being driven by a group of people(NWO etc) or they are being driven by random forces. I just hope you understand that the attack is there, no matter who is leading it.
One death through the act of unfounded aggression is murder, 88.000 is genocide
Who are you defending and why?
The invasion of Iraq was based on a constructed lie!
There were no weapons of mass destruction yet mass destruction of Iraq occurred none the less and continues to this day; "Operation Shock and Awe" takes on an extremely sinister form given the facts that it was carried out using weapons that caused mass destruction to Iraq and was broadcast to the world in true Hollywood style.
uh...wrong once again, mr paul. Woodrow Wilson fought as hard as he could to keep the US out of WW1 against war mongerers like Teddy Roosevelt and Senator Henry Cabot Lodge of Massachussetts. He fought to stay out of the war and for a lasting peace which he felt the original conception of the League of Nations offered. Woodrow Wilson was a great ambassador for peace, American neutrality, and was a great American.
youtube is a govt puppet like digg, google and all the rest.
The CFR/NWO bastards have run the country since they ran Wilson, TR & Taft in the same race just as they do now.
Joe Kennedy: "Fifty men run the country, and that's a high figure".
The bankers ALWAYS love the profitable at interest loaning to tyrants and govts, and especially for expensive wars. They always finance, supply and reconstruct all sides of every war they promote.
The US cannot spread freedom when native-born agents of a foreign land own its media & govt. Open societies & democracy leave citizens vulnerable 2 Zionists who, by definition, cannot be loyal to their host countries. Only (peaceful) dictators (who were not installed puppets of the West) can thwart Zionists & their central banks (Cuba, Iran, N.Korea)

yeah, because he's not electable. he has a funny way of remembering historical events O_o and the only votes he's got are from young, blue-collar, conspiracy theory-loving, uneducated people. nobody else likes him.
You mean *you're..? It's an amusing fact that most Paul supporters can't spell worth shit, either because they're dyslexic or because they're dumb as hell. You should read more books and watch less Youtube.
wow!!...such logic, and common sense. What explanation do we get from Bush and Fox news?.."The evil do-ers attack us because we're free and rich.".....Finally someone worth my vote...Ron Paul-08
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who doesn't want to run the country. Just the executive branch of the federal government. None of the others can even see a difference. And they desperately want to run the country, i.e., you.
What a breath of fresh air...people should listen to him...No one even those who are not crazy about him can dispute his historical and economical points...RON PAUL movement is just starting and will live beyond the 2008 election no matter what happens...
This second guy is so full of shit...he is either a moron...which I don't think...or he is intentionally obfuscating the real motives for any of this...it's about people fucking up the dollar...then forcing people to keep accepting it for oil! If they want to accept anyting but the dollar...they get the marines!
Those of you that don't believe Ron Paul need to educate yourself read The Creature from Jekyll Island-A Second Look at the Federal Reserve by Edward Griffin and read up on economics from diffrent sources-Friedman, Sowell, Rothbard, Mises. RON PAUL 2008!
Today's the day to express our thanks to Ron Paul! He has asked us for our help NOW and his campaign has said that the Dec 16 Tea Party will be too late to impact the crucial early primaries. Money is needed NOW! I just donated my $100 and I know that we can "stuff" Dr. Paul's campaign with cash today if we all give what we can! Let's show the "turkeys" who don't believe that Dr. Paul can win that we are not taking a day off! The fight for liberty continues! Donate Today & help post this!
Agree. You dun go police the world. First the world has to agree and accept you as the police. The governement police a country but the people elects the government. If I think I am the best and I should police the world then I think I would be the biggest stupid on this planet or a kid.
Why does everyone want Ron Paul AND Dennis Kucinich? Outside of the fact that they are both anti-war, they couldn't be more DIFFERENT! RP is for limited government and personal responsibility. DK might as well be running as a socialist, he is for HUGE government, redistribution of wealth and a nanny state. I just can't seem to understand the comparison!
I believe that it is because many people seen in Mr. Kucinich the same principled integrity that is seen in Dr. Paul. You know where he stands, and you know that his influence is not for sale, and in that he is very much like Dr. Paul, and deserves some respect.
Personally, I would rather seen my taxes used to help people within my own country, than spent to feed the "war machine"... but, that's just me. ;)
not only the integrity part, but some people believe that liberty is more valuable than wealth and economics. To me, this is first priority... tedious economic matters later.
Please register at this website and spread the word people.

Our goal is to get 100,000 people registered and each one of them will give a 100 dollar donation...that makes a total of 10,000,000 HUGE BUCKS! Just think of the exposure Ron Paul will get...pure madness! We need him and he needs us. Please register and please spread the word =)
Dinesh is a good guy. I like him. But he's wrong about America's foreign policy. Ron Paul is Pennsylvania Dutch. He is derived from the German immigrants that built this country. I think Paul's background allows him to understand the true concept of America much better than a "recent arrival" like D'Souza
Why shouldn't we have been in World War one? Our allies were under attack. That's a threat to our national security. If our allies surrender, it's our turn next.
Do you know why world war I was even fought or how it started? There was no reason for it, the people responsible for the assassination should have been tried in Austria, end of story. There was no reason for everyone to go to war, other than banking interest.
Reacting to the Iraq War by pulling our troops out? Reacting to runaway inflation and evilness by shutting down the Federal Reserve? Reacting to the anxiety of the American people by eliminating the IRS?
Hell, West, if that's the 'reactionary agenda,' I WANT MORE.
PAULites, 100,000 for Ron Paul on Nov 5th! Please donate $100 (or whatever you think freedom is worth)on Nov 5th. $10 million in one day for the good doctor- Let's make it happen!
How many other Candidates do you hear speaking the truth? The rest of them are blah, blah, blah, for themselves. Dr. Ron Paul is a true Statesman. He can blow any other candidate out of the water. They're afraid of him! Ron Paul will make a GREAT PRESIDENT! He has my vote 100%!
how can i register republican? i've always voted for democrats. i can't stand them now. i can't stand neoconservative anymore either! but i gotta vote for ron paul in florida.
Obtain a voter registration form from your local election board. Make sure it is turned in before the deadline to change your party affiliation. I say this because the last day to change your voter's registration and the last day to register to vote may be a different day as it is here in Maryland.

Britian should and can take care of that themselves.
itzahazylife 2 years ago
this isn't defense..it's empire building. 761 bases in 150 nations isn't defense. it's not even over-kill defense. it's an empire. we're not building an empire. we're already an empire. and for u to think that spending around $1 trillion on this insane "defense" is necessary, only illuminates your paranoid, aggressive, war-wongering mentality. that's 1 trillion dollars that could go to something we actually NEED..but, when we involve ourselves and provoke war, i guess we do need it huh?
itzahazylife 2 years ago
One of the roles of govt is to protect US citizens and protect US property...even on the seas and other countries. Those overseas bases is what allowed us to deal with those those somalia pirates. Also, treaties w/ allies should be honored and bases are necessary to honor those treaties and act as a deterent to aggression. Did you know by treaty should the Chi-Coms attack Tawain the US will be at war w/ Com-China? When you get older, you'll realize utopia is just a young mans dream.
nlpjohn 2 years ago
761 bases in 150 countries is just for protection huh? open your eyes. how much is for intimidation and power, and how much is for morality missions? intimidation provokes. provocation invites problems. those problems esculate into wars. we know this. but our foreign policy ceases to change. we want war, and we want chaos. it's huge business.
i'm realistic. i don't foresee utopia. i simply foresee a potential for huge improvement. u don't..u accept it as is. you're aged and without passion.
itzahazylife 2 years ago

RattlerBK 2 years ago
Ahhhhh....the strawman argument. Falsely assign an argument to another. Put on the white hat and refute that argument. It is a crude and low-brow tactic usually employed by scumbag politicians. Our current president loves this tactic. I'm not impressed. Go find someone that claims S.Arabia is our friend and argue w/ them. I will not play your games. Clearly any discussion w/ you is pointless. And for your information, I see S.Arabia as an enemy of the USA.
nlpjohn 2 years ago
"And for your information, I see S.Arabia as an enemy of the USA."--Me too. Well, I understand where you stand now. One good idea I liked from McCain was drilling off our shores, and he seemed against govt. spending with these banks which I heartily agreed with. I would support any action(s) against N. Korea 100% if need be. They are an obvious threat to peace.
RattlerBK 2 years ago
yeah. that would be genius. they have nukes and missiles aimed at US bases.
the real threat to peace was our invasion of iraq which basically told the world "get a nuke or we might attack you."
Tuppington 2 years ago
except your ignoring what happen.

How noble of us !!!
akamola 2 years ago
A person falsely claimed I thought SArabia was a US ally and proceeded w/ a strawman argument. Your repeating that same strawman argument. If you wish to argue w/ someone who thinks SArabia is an ally, then go find someone that thinks that way... If you would have bothered to read the exchanged, you would have known my position. I shall no longer waste my time w/ youtube nitwits like your self who are too lazy to read and comprehend before firing their verbal bullets...
nlpjohn 2 years ago
First of all, Saudi arabia IS A US ALLY !!!! Thats a fact, not a matter of opinion. We provide weapons for them and train their army, Saudis actully hve lobbies in the US congress, every president since FDR has been friendly with them and th US didn't even do anything about the 9/11 saudi hijackers. You don't really care about fcts do ya ?? You must be an inbred redneck !!!!! I'm too lazy to read ??? Bitch, your inbred ass probably doesn't even know how to read !!!!
akamola 2 years ago
nlpjohn 2 years ago
That's just retarded !!!!!! th US hasn't signed any such "mutual defense treaties" with Isreal, Egypt, Argentina, Kuwait, Morocco and a plethora of other countries, that doesn't mean they are not our allies !!!!! What a stupid argument !!!! No treaty, no alliance ??? What an ignoramus statement !!! Just look at all the support we give to the Saudi's. Would we treat a neutral or an axis country the way we treat Saudi ??? Use your brain for once in your life !!!!!
akamola 2 years ago
That's only because they have oil. Their a bunch of wahabist freaks, the day we don't rely on foreign oil is the first day we don't give a shit about Saudia Arabia.
But on a different note, Saudia Arabia is supposively beneficial in fighting the War on Terror. Almost hard to believe since their extreme ideology is aligned with AQ, but supposively true... If so, they will stay a partner.
tubub 2 years ago
for someone who isn't friends with saudi arabia we sure give them a lot of business.
Tuppington 2 years ago
The USA imports their oil primarily from Canada and Venezuela. But your premise is flawed. Business relationships have never equal friendship. The USSR and Nazi Germany were huge trading partners. And were they friends?
nlpjohn 2 years ago 2
I'll admit I don't know too much about trade except for these two points:
1. We may have traded for a while with Nazi Germany but towards the end we were jacking their priceless trade secrets to out-compete them. They were more advanced than us in many ways.
2. The strongest voices of those who favor the coup in Honduras (lobbyissts, congressmen) are paid for by the business community that has interests there.
Tuppington 2 years ago
Per the Honduron constitution presidents may serve only 1-term and if they try to change the constitution on term limits the must first resign from office. The Honduron supreme court ruled him to be in violation and he refused to resign from office. He persisted and then the supreme court ordered him removed from office. A member of his own party succeeded him. These are the facts and they can not be disputed...
nlpjohn 2 years ago
that's the propaganda and it is disputed. the referrendum was non-binding. had it been binding, he would not have been able to run again anyway, since it was to be held on the day of the election of his replacement.
no the real reason behind the coup was that he raised the minimum wage. it happened in Brazil before, its just history repeating itself.
the legislative and judicial branches are some of the most corrupt in the world. the votes of the Honduran people outweigh gov't officials IMO
Tuppington 2 years ago
the US military empire costs us so much money it's obscene. it's a large contributing factor to the dire situation of our economy. it needs to stop. we need to follow the advice of our founders. we need to have a non-interventionist foreign policy. that doesn't make us cowards. during these times, it makes us intelligent and caring of OUR people.. we need to start worrying about ourselves.
itzahazylife 2 years ago
I doubt you have any idea what % of the USA GDP is spent on the US military. As a % of GDP it is quite modest. The main financial problems the USA suffers is entitlements. And I bet you have no idea the US casulties that occurred during the coup against Mossaddeq. Do you? You don't think. You just react and recite talking points that others have given you. I forget more international history and politics than you will ever learn in a lifetime. Yes, I agree. One of us is quite naive.
nlpjohn 2 years ago
lol I hardly think the % of gdp is relevant , just the % of government spending. Investment consumer and net exports dont matter in this lol why are you even talking about the gdp? But anyhow, If you dont think that our forgien policy worsens the economy then your insane. Not only does it take more government spending and thus taxes , but it also often raises the prices of imports . it may not effect the whole gdp directly , but in several around the corner ways it does.
spawk1993 2 years ago
Did you actually read the previous conversation I had w/ itzahazylife? I don't think you did. Your post is filled w/ so many false premises it would take 500 words to expose your lack of reading comprehension. At least Itzahazylife could form comprehensive arguments. Your post was a chaotic word salad.

ricklicious 3 years ago
Unfortunately, and apparently, people have *not* had enough of corruption, as November 4th showed us. The healthiest race our country could have participated in would have been between Paul and Obama, and I have serious doubts that Obama would have been able to win against so worthy an opponent - unfortunately, "those in charge" know better than to let someone like Paul get in the mix and shake things up. Thus, McCain and Obama both raced for the same thing, with (slightly) different methods.

Education in the USA was much better when the States were in charge,
Test scores have been steadily falling since the 60's because of the Federal Governments control
As far as "other important aspects of the domestic issues" Ron Paul is an expert on the Constitution and Economics.
Hes a senior member of banking committees in Congress.
It doesnt sound to me that his "His domestc policies are horrid". It sounds to me like you dont know enough about Ron Paul or the Constitution.

george bush won 2 elections and hes got worse oratory skills. important issues like the drug war? 5000 black males per 100,000 black males are in prison, under aparteid in south africa only 900 black males per 100,000 were in prison. 69 billion tax dollars a year to stop people from doing drugs they have a right to use. Your politician supports the drug war, war in iran, voted for the patriot act, voted for the iraq war. your politician is pushed by the media because it has special interest
charliehorse12345 3 years ago
Sorry bro but it looks like you know pretty much nothing about economics or history.
Why do you think it is that during the 50s college tuitions had real (even when adjusted for inflation) prices that were a fraction of todays? Because there was no government backed loans and regulations driving up prices.
Why do you think that people like Abe Lincoln were able to get a better education than todays standard, quicker, and cheaper? Because there were only private schools and no teachers union.

Murders? Can you explain yourself please. You act like the United States is comparable to Mao's China, or Stalin's Russia. This is why you guys get no credit these days, you throw out nonsense and act like its fact. NWO is a fairy tale, if you believe in that you might as well believe in trolls or goblins.
Shahfilms 4 years ago
We put Mao in. Rockefeller called it the greatest social experiment ever performed. Stalin was an ally. We supported him and helped cover up the atrocities. You put me in a group with "you guys" and that shows you for what you are - a bigot. You think of people as members of groups rather than individuals. You have no respect for individual liberty if you think there is a difference between killing 90,000 and 900,000. Both are extremely unamerican.
wresing 4 years ago 3

MooseOfReason 4 years ago
Do you know why world war I was even fought or how it started? There was no reason for it, the people responsible for the assassination should have been tried in Austria, end of story. There was no reason for everyone to go to war, other than banking interest.

I hate both of these guys. Don't vote for Republicans if you hate the reactionary agenda.

What do you think causes inflation? Have you ever read anything on economics? How old are you?

How many other Candidates do you hear speaking the truth? The rest of them are blah, blah, blah, for themselves. Dr. Ron Paul is a true Statesman. He can blow any other candidate out of the water. They're afraid of him! Ron Paul will make a GREAT PRESIDENT! He has my vote 100%!

Pablo-
Obtain a voter registration form from your local election board. Make sure it is turned in before the deadline to change your party affiliation. I say this because the last day to change your voter's registration and the last day to register to vote may be a different day as it is here in Maryland.

You shouldn't. Republicans are all vipers, no matter how nice they sound.
