wow your sense of melody and phrasing leaves me speechless every time, love these videos! but where do you find these backing tracks youre playing over?
I commented on this vid before, but wanted to say again, I have really been enjoying this. So smooth! This video is this weeks showcased video on my channel. Love it!
It's a shame you have to post a video of you playing with a pre-recorded track like a Jamey Abersold track. Students play along with these tracks. You are a very good player but hearing you with play-a-long diminishes your talent. Don't you play with real people? It's more challenging to interact with real humans with their faults and all rather than a recording. I'm just saying....
Thanks a lot for your feedback. I absolutely agree that playing with others is far better and I always have lots more fun whenever I do. I'm not a pro and do this for my enjoyment, so sometimes I just have to do my best with what fits my schedule.
Hey Paul can I vote 10 stars? ok 2 times 5stars.......... great stuff! I'm very impressed.....,some very lovely lines movin around in this tune...KEEPON STRUMMIN........DALLAS
Second listen Paul, these Vids are worth listening over and over, the sign of great Jazz, this is no throw away music but Art. Great timing Paul. greets Vic.
Yes Paul you nailed this one man,and the first comment you got"very listenable" is a great understatement, this is top notch playing man with very nice musical lines and it swings from beginning to end, that's my sincere opinion, greets my friend. Victor.
Cool! I get to hear you playing the tune again as I peruse your Response to my Comment! Do you ever listen to Jimmy Bruno? He's one of my favorite "living" Guitarists and he only lives 60 miles or so from where I live.
Your opinion of Mr. Bruno has gained you additional respect from this lowly Guitarist. Dang, I didn't think I could respect you any more than I've learned to already! Jimmy Bruno is as funny as Hell to see Live! He curses like crazy. I remember when I first heard of him, I thought, "Who the Heck is Jimmy Bruno?" It was a year or more later that I actually heard him play. I was blown away! I thought, "Damn, I could've been listening to this Cat for a year already!"

JazzGuitarist2007 3 years ago
Thanks again. Yes, I did practice with a metronome quite a bit. Not so much any more, but I did so for many years.

Calmly swingin' as hell. You don't get exited at all, but your lines are absolutely thrilling. Nice loop at the end. Great job! Jogi

Paul, the ending hinted to me of George Benson. You got "Windy" in the end too. Great lines... I'm going to take this one apart for my soloing.
Jack.

Thanks a lot Jack! That ending is a 2-chord vamp (G & F) that sort of sounds like the chords to 'On Broadway' (or 'Tequila').
