Akira drawing style changed during the later stage of dragonball Z. Tis was reflected here too. This anime also notable for all the updates of hairstyle and fashions. Like the hair used to be curly now its straight for the gals

This is the newer 1997-1998 series, the original was on just prior to Dragon Ball from 1981-1986. I really don't know much about either series, I have only seen the first 6 or 7 epesodes of the original series and almost nothing of this (newer) series. I find it fun to watch of what little I have seen; I hope I get to watch more of it in the future.
