now what would be cool is if the makers were remembered by the software and then buffered untill you view it again and then making it much more stable on the viewing part. Would be realy cool to make a virtual gun and play fps in a room like that and have a wireless censor when ever you hit the trigger. So many ideas in my head with this =D !!!!
The objects are not directly connected to the markers, so you can integrate as many objects as you like, once you have the "room-information". And if you want to buy the consumer software, it can be found at amazon (name: click & design). The developer tools for developing own solutions or creating own scenes (integrate your own ojects into pictures of the real world) can be found at metaio (dot) com
If you had lots of markers around the office, could you possibly walk aroung the office and view it on a portable device (assuming you keep enough of the markers in view)?
Im just wondering whe these were all static cams in the demo. Perhaps the 3D content gets shakey.
Indeed, you could walk around with a mobile device. Maybe even better with some different sensors, not only a marker based tracking. But this demo actually was just for fun, to produce a little music video using our foto based interior design software. It was looped on a screen at the entrance of our technology fair... And the product behind shall be as simple as possible: one foto, one klick, one impression.
Man, How come all the best leaps in Technological Entertainment and Advancement is Always just for fun and Never gets out in the sun? It just saddens me.
No need to be sad or hang around in the shadow. The software is a consumer product in europe, which you can actually buy on german Amazon. It´s called "klick & design" and the augmented reality components were integrated by a interior design software company. And there are some more augmented reality products ready to market. And they make fun and sense...
hmmm, this gave me an idea, you could have a really scabby house, with a cheap sofa, tv etc, but then you could use AR to make them look designer, all you would have to do is wear a goofy helmet all your life!!!!
