@Samuli385 no i dont believe so, and if you wanna "uninstall" the mod you have to uninstall the entire game and reinstall it if you want it back to vanilla, unless you backup your entire folder of the vanilla RTW

Brilliant Mod, but i don't like how they've done the hoplites, in a sort of phalanx position but without a sword for secondary. I like how the SPQR mod did it, but still prefer RTR. :D

Wow...that looks really good! I gotta just point out though, you lined them up in a maniple formation, but you didn't fight in one. First, the velites would have retreated once the enemy came to close, second, the triarii were held in reserve, and were usually used only to hold the line while the rest of the Roman army pulled back. Not trying to be anal, but I think using the real tactics would have really made this video look cool.

@nemesisre309 in R:TR, you dont play as a family, but as the actual roman republic. the game actually is alot better graphicly, and it does have its own sounds(get them from the RTR website: itll say for 6.2 but it works for 1.9 too) basicly its an epic mod

@BERNTRR there is no blood in the default game. there might be some mods you could install. as for you unit problem, im not sure about that. sounds like some of your game files got mixed up. you might wanna try reinstalling.

@GreekSpartanHoplite lol... no dude. No video game is realistic. Historical accuracy is one thing... Battle realism is another thing entirely. But if Historical realism is what you are after, check out the mod Europa Barbarorum. I find it more fun that Total Realism, and the good thing is you can run Europa Barbarorum on the Barbarian Invasion engine, which improves not only campaign A.I, but also battle A.I somewhat significantly.

I'm having a problem with my download of Total realism. The download asked me to start fresh with a version of Rome Total War 1.0. then to install 1.2 patch then download the 6.0 and 6.2 patches of total realism that came with it

I start the game and right at the screen where it shows who made it and all the trademarks etc. it stops and says rtw stopped working???? Anybody know where i can get a legit download of total realism or a solution to my problem??

Well if I'm right SPQR concentrates on romans while RTR modifies every faction, I really advice RTR.

Also battles last longer since morale is a lot higher so no more global routing after 10 seconds

yeh, i believe that Army was Crassus. He went on a campaign against Parthia, but he got bogged down by Horse Archers. The Parthian composite bows were too strong for the legionaries shields. Thus you had cases of Legionaries being pinned to the ground through their feet. The testudo as a rule was used for approaching walls under fire. On the battlefield it wasn't very mobile, and as shown with Crassus, not always effective.

The unit colours are more realistic, archers are less overpowered (but still a bit), historically inaccurate units are removed, a few new factions are added and the romans are consolidated into one faction. Among other things.

@Kdssow The game does seem to run faster, and the engine is of course the same: both use the Rome: Total War 1.5 engine. EB, if a bit slower on the battle field, has arguably more complicated models when it comes to graphics. Both are very exciting mods and both deserve praise.
