Please Google about Nintendo USB Wi-Fi Connector. This allows you to connect your DS to your computer, and your computor connected to your Wireless/Cable internet. This works quite well! Doesn't work for windows 7 but people have ways of doing that. Search for that too.

Nintendo discontinued these so get them on ebay/amazon seccond hand before they're all gone. Or get another make one wich will still work.

I reckon it's designed to half-work: it finds your wireless network and then refuses to connect because they wanted you to spend out for their proprietary USB connector which, checking Nintendo's website, is withdrawn from sale! Nintendo have shot themselves in the foot over this. Also why provide an onscreen QWERTY keyboard when only 0-9 & A-F are valid WEP key characters? Daft.

Dudes it's ne gain for all you people that are asking me questions about why it doesn't not work well it's your lucky day theirs a Internet USB only for ds it's on eBay for about 25$ I think lol but anyway yes it's tier buy it's search on eBay. Internet USB fOr ds then your prob is fixed install it to your pc by connecting the USB to ur pc it will tell u the steps... Hmm it used to work fine and now when i test my connection it works perfectly until the very end of the test. At that point, the connection instantly cuts off, failing the test. When I try connecting with a game it doesn't work at all.

I have a DS Lite, so WPA on my computer is not compatible. The thing is- I have WPA, not WEP, and I don't plan on changing to WEP, because it might mess up my internet settings. I've looked into getting a WiFi USB connector I seen ( Belkin F6D4050ed Wireless N150 USB Adapter. )

Now what I want to know is will this help me get on the internet giving me the Wi-Fi I need ( Even though my netgear wireless router is a WPA ) and if so will it affect my internet on my laptop that Im using now.

My network is unsecure. I used to have verizon and the WEP code was displayed on the router, but my network was still unsecure. I switched to optimum and its not there. I try to connect abd my DS says error code 51300 which means it needs a WEP code, by my network is unsecure! i dont get it!

Cheers. Had pretty much figured this out myself, but wanted to make sure before I lowered my router's security. I know this is an old vid, but right now I have a DSi which will connect to my router using 'Advanced' settings and I can browse the web, but I can't play games on-line, which is annoying. Also - as an FYI - Facebook gets all annoyed if you try logging on from a mobile device away from your 'usual' location. Was at an airport with my DSi and it demanded I log on from a static IP.

your router is most probably at wpa, a high security system which the ds can't handle.

so you'll have to set your settings to wep.

I have been getting the same error message as most of you when trying to connect to our router which didn't bother me much until now (I'm getting a DSi and I'm dead set on getting it online).

I was happy with the idea of getting the dongle until you said that it wont work with my Vista laptop. At that point my soul killed itself in dispair.

Theres one last hope for me - that the DSi (which I have been metaphoricly drooling over for a few weeks now) will hopefully take WPA connections.

it means that the wireless network you want to use is password protected. You need to enter the pass to accsess the network.
