Did you look at the clip i posted in 1080p? If you doubt it just join a map of Arica and try exactly what they do in the clip. Aim at somethign ages away, fire, switch to your binocs, watch the drop.

I have used slugs heaps. Actually most my "marksmanship headshots" are with the 870 +slugs.
What you are failing to notice is without a scope the triangle marker on an enemy is actually allot high above their head than with a scope.

Shotguns aren't OP. At long range they need two shots to kill someone unless you get a headshot, same as snipers.
At close range you can one hit kill someone yes, but with a slug thats Kinda hard to do since the flinch in this game is massive when you get shot. Also, Have you seen a lot of people using shotguns?

Although I will say that the one thing that makes battlefield only a LITTLE more realistic is the concept that shotgun rounds don't just disappear after 30 feet. Although my main point, it's a video game.

They aren't well known, because they are usually prohibited. I say , FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH A SHOTGUN, that the maximum effective range for this would be around 150 m. Not know exact distance for the game, and angle of the shot, we can't tell if its 100 % achievable in real life. Don't tell me to learn my guns

nope, a shot gun is a shot gun and is unrifled, other wise it would be a rifle, a very large caliber rifle... and slugs come in the same type of shell as regular bird and buck shot comes in. so shooting slug is like shooting a revolutionary war musket. it might be more accurate cuz its more modern, but a ball doesnt travel very straight. that is why rifling and bullets where invented (even rifled muskets werent that great, but back in 1776 a 250 yard shot was a long shoot...)

Hey at least shotguns are the primary weapons. In MW2 they are secondary weapons to an already deadly primary. In Bad Company 2 if you run into a CQCer and they miss the first shot with the shotgun, chances are they'll be dead before they can get the next shot off. As for the sniping, ya its unrealistic, but its a primary weapon and you can get kills from that range with pretty much any other primary if you are good enough. Yes it is far fetched, but this doesnt bug me very much.
It's somewhat balanced for what the slugs are. One thing's poison's another one's meat. Buckshot's poison (mid-long range) is the slug's meat, whilst the slug's poison (close range) is the buckshot's meat.
i believe for the most part, this isn't a glitch. the slugs are similar damage to sniper bullets. the range shouldn't be that great though, that's the 1 part i have a problem with.

battlefield bad company 2 when i first got it i thought it was absolutely amazing and i still think its great but i do see some bad parts to the game like the range shown in the video but its still a good game. call of duty world at war one of the very best call of duty games and black ops looks fun but unsure.
In hardcore, everyone's health is reduced to 50 instead of 100. Shotguns do 100 damage standard at close range and drops to 50 at longer ranges. So using basic math, i'm pretty sure that in hardcore, shotguns are automatic wins in fights.
well if you go and pick up a shotgun in real life im pretty sure battlefield is more relalistic sompared to mw2 with the shotgun range so no this isnt bad for the range this is realistic

The bad thing about using the shotgun for a sniper rifle is that you don't get the distance bonus points for head shots.
The good thing is you have no sway with the crosshair like you do with the scope.

@sxnoss40 i agree due to the rifling of the barrel and the the rounds that are usually specially made for it the sniper system is MADE to shoot at ranges like that. a shotgun is made to blow down doors, splatter someone thats in ur face, and all around CLOSE RANGE devastation. you should not be able to "snipe" with a shotgun wether its a game or not......

@BliXxMorGrahZz I've shot around 100 meters with a slug before, hitting targets. Some slugs even have rifling on the fucking slug. There are such shotguns that do have rifling. They aren't well known, because they are usually prohibited. I say , FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH A SHOTGUN, that the maximum effective range for this would be around 150 m. Not know exact distance for the game, and angle of the shot, we can't tell if its 100 % achievable in real life. Don't tell me to learn my guns

@Sonnyxleet i dont find them to be, as i said, in mw2, not only can run some akimbo but with perks like bling pro you can increase their magazine size too, also bad company 2 forces you to take it as a primary, if it didnt have the range it did then you'd be unstuck in many situations, and they would be near useless your camping to defend a point in rush

@stevetheblobman well, it's as simple as this... in mw2 you have a chance, in bad company 2 you can snipe from WAY across the level, and unless you have a sniper or you're very lucky, you don't have a chance. mw2's levels are small and at least give youa chance, but because of the broad levels in bad company 2, you have no chance.

You really don't believe you can snipe across the map with shotties? Go play Port Valdez, get on the mountain with a shotty and pick people off using slugs. @Sonnyxleet and that's how it 'should' be, the shotgun being virtually useless across the map. That's why picking a good secondary would be key. IMO, this is about the biggest error they made in MP. I'm pretty happy with the game as a whole, but sniping shotguns and over-done environmental effects would cause me to give it 4/5 instead of 4.5 out of 5 of 5/5. what's your username in the game?

was this video simply a means to you venting your rage? or are you just trying to start another video game flame war? its the same as using a sniper without a scope. And dont say shotties are overpowered, just look at the M60 or UMP in MW2 i still get hit markers every now and then. What i mean is most shooters damage you do depends on where you shoot sum 1 and the odds of missing sum 1 in this game with are pretty high. BTW this was in hardcore. i could 1 shot sum 1 with a 45. from twice as far

and lastly anyone w/ any guns skills nows that shooting that far w/ a rifle can be tricky unless you know what you are doing. that is because there is a lot of movement in the body and just a little tweak can make a big different w/ that kind of range.

and yes the slug, maybe even a shot might go that far, but it wont hit the person most likly. and this is probably a buck shoot, otherwise a shot gun wouldnt really serve the purpose that you want in real war, which is a close range oh crap shot. and if the bbs really went that fare you would have a massive spread and they would of lost so much power that they might just stink the guy if they do hit him. and if hes got body armor, forget it...

nope, a shot gun is a shot gun and is unrifled, other wise it would be a rifle, a very large caliber rifle... and slugs come in the same type of shell as regular bird and buck shot comes in. so shooting slug is like shooting a revolutionary war musket. it might be more accurate cuz its more modern, but a ball doesnt travel very straight. that is why rifling and bullets where invented (even rifled muskets werent that great, but back in 1776 a 250 yard shot was a long shoot...)

Hey at least shotguns are the primary weapons. In MW2 they are secondary weapons to an already deadly primary. In Bad Company 2 if you run into a CQCer and they miss the first shot with the shotgun, chances are they'll be dead before they can get the next shot off. As for the sniping, ya its unrealistic, but its a primary weapon and you can get kills from that range with pretty much any other primary if you are good enough. Yes it is far fetched, but this doesnt bug me very much.

It's somewhat balanced for what the slugs are. One thing's poison's another one's meat. Buckshot's poison (mid-long range) is the slug's meat, whilst the slug's poison (close range) is the buckshot's meat.

battlefield bad company 2 when i first got it i thought it was absolutely amazing and i still think its great but i do see some bad parts to the game like the range shown in the video but its still a good game. call of duty world at war one of the very best call of duty games and black ops looks fun but unsure.

In hardcore, everyone's health is reduced to 50 instead of 100. Shotguns do 100 damage standard at close range and drops to 50 at longer ranges. So using basic math, i'm pretty sure that in hardcore, shotguns are automatic wins in fights.

as a gun nerd i would know how far a shot gun could fire and i know for a fact, even w/ slug shot, that it will not go as far as it does in this video... beside, shooting slug is like shooting a musket. rifling was invented in order to make guns more accurate.
