The advantage is "Race Cam" performance at high revs with the idle and low rev driveability of a street cam. VVT uses changes in oil pressure to adjust cam timing (More impotantly timing overlap) to improve fuel economy. Don't get me wrong, I hate Honda's, but it helps to be educated about your enemy. I'm also an atheist who's read the bible, just to know who I'm up against.
