I very much want a '66 or '67 Bug for my first car, and I'm looking for one under 3k, so I can get it cheap, and work on it like I'd want to. Anything to look out for?
I had a question. My 73 super beetle runs smoother when the engine is cold. When the motor heats up the car runs terrible in lower RPMs. What is wrong?
@brighteyefilms I dont think it is overheating. Because once the motor warms up it runs bad. It wont accelerate at low rpms. You really have to give it alot of gas and dump the clutch. It seems like it is not getting enough gas. What do motors do when the bushings go out in the carb?
@JohnnyBravo704 Well what does your engine compartment look like? I can't make a call just on text. If the car is sputtering and hesitating on take off, then I would say it is the carb. Bushings in the carb? Not in VW carbs. Really sounds like overheating. Are your seals in place in the engine compartment? are all of your tins in there?

to keep the gloss there chris, get some meguiars polishing compound (any type will do) and polish your tins every 6 months to keep up that shine.
