He speaks with a south Dublin accent (which he fakes as thats not where is from). Everything is over anunciated and rounded (a very typical English way of speaking). Sometimes its easier for Irish people to 'soften' their accents as you really wouldn't understand alot of us if we talked normally, especially if he spoke with his native Cork accent and even more so when speaking to Americans. So, in that sense, I understand why he's "losing" his Irish accent. Great actor though.
