One clue that there has to be neglect is if your provider is taking kids to and from school and there are more children than seat belts in their car. Also, if one woman is providing care for 6 toddlers and infants, and yet her house is always spotless when you arrive to pick up your children, the children are being neglected in favor of house cleaning. There is a limit to what one person can do.
One woman she knew took care of a 5 mo old by putting him in a back room and closing the door. She had scheduled times to go in and prop a bottle or change a diaper. This was the only time she gave him contact during the day. 30 minutes before mom came to pick up she would pick him up and comfort him so when mom came he was all smiles. My mom spoke wit that mother, along with so many others. None believed her. They're too desperate to find cheap care. cont.
My mother ran an in-home daycare when I was a teen. She never neglected or abused the children. She never took in the maximum allowed number of children because she couldn't give that many young children proper care. Because she not only had daycare kids, but had 12 children of her own, other providers were very open to her. She did not know a single provider who wasn't neglectful. They would leave infants and toddlers alone while they ran errands and took older kids to school. Cont.

It's not just home day care that have problems with abuse. I've worked 11 years in day care, and have experience some bad ones along with good ones. Even the good ones can not be so great. I've seen teachers drag kids by their arms across the room, make fun of the kids and stuff like that. That's why I encourage parents to just drop in to whatever daycare or babysitter your child is going to. The more active you are in that day care, the less of a chance of this happening to your child.

Long story short- it's because the ratios are still too high. The state puts 16 toddlers to 2 teachers- usually sick and not allowed to stay home- what quality do they expect? And these are the expensive schools!

I think there is justice in her sentence reduction. A long prison sentence is punishment, but nothing can match the stigma she will endure upon release. Her crimes (and any attempt at name change) are a Google search away. She will be unable to get any job, may potentially be barred from living near children, and will face the condemnation of society in a way that isn't possible living in a prison with other criminals.

Thirty years in prison isn't enough by far, but when her fellow inmates discover what she has done, she'll be abused every day herself. Child murderers are not only hated in the outside world, but possibly even more amongst prisoners. I hope she suffers. Suffering for thirty years is a better punishement than death. I just removed my 3 year old daughter from a human services run inhome daycare. The sitter would leave my daughter with her son so the sitter could get ready for bed at night. When I picked her up, she would wet her pants everytime when left with the teenage son. My daughter begged me not to take her there, so I found another home to take her to.

My wife dropped our girls off at daycare one morning. When she walked in, there was a child (approximately 18 months old) sitting in a highchair in the kitchen-UNATTENDED. The baby leaned forward and fell out of the highchair headfirst. My wife ran over and caught the child just inches from the ground. She told the daycare owner what had happened. She said, "okay, thanks." She didn't even care!
Needless to say, our children don't go there anymore.

This enrages me..there doesn't seem to be enough justice for the victims. It seems laws mainly protect the violators. I'm disturbed by this and all the other videos I've watched which have led me to this yet another tragic story that shouldn't have happened. Our system's core foundation is based on the first eight amendements to the constitution which focus on civil rights but come on, these sick people's trangressions are inhumane and they should be punished for it.

I think there is justice in her sentence reduction. A long prison sentence is punishment, but nothing can match the stigma she will endure upon release. Her crimes (and any attempt at name change) are a Google search away. She will be unable to get any job, may potentially be barred from living near children, and will face the condemnation of society in a way that isn't possible living in a prison with other criminals.

Thirty years in prison isn't enough by far, but when her fellow inmates discover what she has done, she'll be abused every day herself. Child murderers are not only hated in the outside world, but possibly even more amongst prisoners. I hope she suffers. Suffering for thirty years is a better punishement than death. I just removed my 3 year old daughter from a human services run inhome daycare. The sitter would leave my daughter with her son so the sitter could get ready for bed at night. When I picked her up, she would wet her pants everytime when left with the teenage son. My daughter begged me not to take her there, so I found another home to take her to.

My wife dropped our girls off at daycare one morning. When she walked in, there was a child (approximately 18 months old) sitting in a highchair in the kitchen-UNATTENDED. The baby leaned forward and fell out of the highchair headfirst. My wife ran over and caught the child just inches from the ground. She told the daycare owner what had happened. She said, "okay, thanks." She didn't even care!
Needless to say, our children don't go there anymore.
