  • Are ya sure it isn't ya alternator......lol lol lol

  • More and more shit to be found on these sensitive bands the last few years and indeed I think it has something to do with the wireless connectivity that emerges everywhere around us.

I had my radio aligned and since this summer between 25 an 30 Mhz there's a hum like sound coming from an electrical motor so it seems and it's killing off the weakest most distant stations which makes a DX QSO impossible :-( And it's not just this radio, my other rigs show the same problem...

  • I've heard the same bleeps whilst driving to Bridlington... on my Ranger 2950. I thought it might be a ham as I've heard the same around my home QTH (Nottingham) and know it to be a ham who loathes freebanders. Appalachik 26-TM-911

  • yeah i think its some form of beacon

  • i think it could be elvis

  • there are alot of weired sounds at the moment on 11 meters its a pain in the arse when trying to DX, I think that alot of it is domestic equipment as I do get it around some houses where I live, then nothing in the sticks.

I am guessing PC's gaming stations and wireless net works might be to blame.

as for that could be any thing from MOD to

    even ET is coming lol

  • thats some on put in the tone out to block the freq 73s

  • well as a ham i stll think it is the fcc

  • thee fcc doesnt govern the UK

  • ITS AN 11 METER BEACON!!!

  • the fcc dont key do not key up no not no the free band

  • did you ever think that its some CW blead over?

that 2950 you have DOES have CW. get a CW key and talk morse code to them. XD

iv got the old 2950, all conversions done to it, plus some that only a friend on mine himself.

  • Aircraft navigation, perhaps?

  • Is it something to do with the MOD

  • At least the radio looks good.

    73s

  • Currently getting these on 27.045 here in Nottingham, past couple of months..

  • Considering it's local traffic, it's most likely radar or something similar. Some sort of tracking beacon signal. I believe that forest services also use 11M (local) to track animals with triangulation.
