Sparks have always had a satirical take on the subject of romance (eg.,"Looks, Looks, Looks" "Amateur Hour"). Does anyone know- have either of them had steady girlfriends or been married??- I have never seen reference to this subject!

funny they should play this in stoxkholm (stock whatever) we're pretty proggressive here when it comes to dividing people into "beautiful" and "ugly" since it's just socially 'induced' role models, but probably the song ain't all that serious huh? and sounds like it's all the way from the 80ies? btw the guy ain't ugly AT ALL and the gal does her insecure best to be accepted god bless her. it's all just 'social role models' (hey did they pick her from the audience or something?..)

Well, first of all, this song is absolutely brilliant, sorry you can't see that... As for their greatness: They've recorded 20 albums since 1971, and are about to release their 21st in June 2008. They've been before their time and released the first synth album one year before Depeche Mode released Speak & Spell. DM, New Order and Pet Shop Boys hold Sparks in high regard, as being predecessors, and many other musicians recognize them as being genius songwriters.

In my opinion, Hello Young Lovers from 2006 is their most brilliant album so far. And I grew up with these guys, I got their new album Propaganda in 1974 (during the time when they gave over 1800 interviews in music magazines and TV shows, over a period of three years, their greatest period back then), when I was nine. I was immediately hooked.

I was there in the audiance at all 3 dates there in March of 2004.It was magical and fantastic and it felt empty in a way to not go there to see them the fourth evening then in March 2004.I´ve seen sparks LIVE at Södra Teatern in Stockholm (where this clip´s from) now 6 out of 7 times.Nothing compares to Sparks especially LIVE.
