This technique looks bogus, The basic swim through or bear hug technique is more effective. You want to limit the space between you and your opponent, not increase it as this technique tells you.
I was taught both ways. I think the swim in is only if your opponent doesn't yet have a solid clinch. When someone experience has a tight clinch on you with your head down it is nearly impossible to swim in and your head and shoulders is facing downward so you can't bear hug. You cross face to create just enough space to move THEN swim in and get your own clinch.
that works fine if he just stands there but a good clincher first would have you in a proper tight clinch and secondly would you your energy so if you pushed his head to your left then he would just use your momentum to rip you to the left.
dunne ..i dont know why britain ,never produces guys who fight in k1 or wmc any more...after france i think its japan other european countries ,austrailia then america . its weird but i feel sad not see brits up there ...
in muay thai you cant knee the face, your aim is the sternum, so whats the point in pulling the head down?? its lazy and much easier, you bend them over by pulling the neck then knee to the chest, advanced technique, not basic, not mistake.
in muay thai you cant knee the face??????I think u will find u can knee the face in Full Muay thai rules and in MMA.Holding neck can be usefull to turn your opponent but apart fron that u have far more control and leverage by holding the head
look up your regulations buddy, in camtao sanctioned fights (im canadian, so im familiar with canadian rules, and yes i am aware that these regulations do not exist in some place) but yeah, intentional knees to the face are illegal
you are clearly a huge wanker. Cross face escape is the most basic and effective you wanker. how would he elbow? his bicep is being controlled and his head is facing away from his opponent. You are a wanker.
you idiots dont no shit....thats not a muaythai clinch....his fingers are locked(mma gloves) and his back is arched,in REALITY you would have coped an elbow and been knocked the fuck out.
Dont' ever do another instructional video again please!

THE ORIGINAL CLINCH GRABS THE OPPONENT BACK HEAD... NOT THE NECK...

If he was trying to pull the head down his hands should not be pulling on the neck they should be pulling down on the head.Basic mistake.

Canadians seem to have there own set of rules .A lot of people don't consider muay thai to be proper muay thai without knees and elbow to the face .

I think most the world uses a class system of class A,B and C. Class A is knees and elbows to the face .
