I love how in the beginning one customer and the dude shooting the video went in through the EXIT! When I worked at Circuit the same thing happened...and the doors were marked "entrance" and "exit". Goes to show how stupid the customers could be.

@postal80 I remember on the first day of the liquidation sale in Wheaton, Maryland, the person watching the doors actually yelled at someone for going in the exit. I saw that and realized it was things like that that contributed to the store's downfall. If I were working in a store that was closing, I'd be like, *whatever* because no matter what happens, at the end of the day, you're going to be unemployed.

I didn't like Circuit City at all. I went there a few times just to get a few cheap cds. When they were closing down, I decided to go in there to see if I could catch a few deals. They still had cds selling for over $10! What kind of sale is that?! Best Buy is better, and now a tool store is in it's place.

I just read an article that these fuckers might come back as a store in some areas that were closed. Circut City had nice prices BUT their customer services were just plain horrible. I waited 10 mins. in line at checkout to buy a portable harddrive. What can of BS is that.

You would think customer service would be better at a commission based store. However, the customer service at Best Buy is by far superior where there are no commissions. I think any business that treats customers as prey for their sales staff, ends up missing out on one important key to any business, customer service. If you need proof, ask people if they'd prefer going to a car dealership where staff were not paid commission over a dealership that does.

This reminds me of my hometown supermarket that closed a little over a year ago because a Big Y was moving in >:(. There was actually a full length movie made about its closing directed by my friend's brother. It was pretty touching and funny for an amateur movie. Circuit City made the fatal mistake of laying off their most experienced employees. The subsequent poor level of customer service was the stake through their heart.

Ironically, Best Buy hired quite a few of those experienced workers, and increased their service scores, revenue, and profitability.

Almost exactly 1 year ago, I was in the same boat as these guys...CompUSA (RIP). Say what you will about how much their policies or prices sucked, but know that 90% of the issues stemmed from inept corporate management, and not the poor people that worked in the stores. While all those corporate assholes will be moving on to their next 6 figure paycheck, the people that actually dealt with their pisspoor management skills get to stand in the breadline with the rest of us poor bastards.
