  • @RandomStevie i'm @ 130.. going up to 135.. my legs can take it since i can front squat about that weight... however when i try axial loading something and deep squating it... my back goes forward. I think it's more of a mechanical issue (something i'm doing wrong now) rather than my muscles/CNS not being able to do it

  • @Fatpandas2014 Hmm. Ever tried widening your grip on the bar? I remember one day I switched from having my hands about 3cm away from the knurl to having my hand on the knurl and my squat shot down like a motherfucker. I did this for three weeks wondering what the hell and then I widened my grip and it was back to normal.

    Try it. Your grip really determines your body leverage. Some people have enough upper back tightness to have their hands on their shoulders, some don't.

  • It helps to be 5' 1" and have VERY short legs. Leverage is his friend.

  • @reinkaos82 I am familiar with squatting often, I am more interested in the volume sets x reps. Do they squat 2-3 reps for 15 sets or higher reps?

  • @ITzJpiZzlE He's not doing this for looks, his goal is to clean & Jerk and Snatch the most weight as possible so he's going to be doing lifts specific to helping his goal. A lot of upper body work won't help him win. It'll make him look more even muscular wise but like i said, not the point.

  • @AdmiralSeadog he's 20, and some of my friends lifted with him. I think that is Jianping Ma talking at the end, who coaches olympic weightlifting here in cedar falls. They get to go lift with these guys every summer at this training facility.

  • LOL, I squatted 155lbs this morning. This kid is doing 440lbs + and breaking parallel. Man, these kids are awesome.

  • @LloydChristmas777 You should always break parallel no matter what. Short of a major knee injury.

  • @JCarrollTV, Thanks. I always try to break parallel. I just brought it up because a lot of people don't (well most people I've watched in the gym), and yet this kid lifts that heavy and breaks parallel like nothing.
