Excuse me if this has been asked, the ISO's used on the USB HDD, do they need to be in anyway patched for use with this setup? I mean, can I just download and run the ISO's available around the internet or do I ned to patch them to work with the x360key?

@MaximumRD You dont need them to be patched to play on the xkey. But it would be better, because the only reason people patch their games is to make it xbox live safe. If you wanna play online then you should patch it. If not then 4get it.

I may sound like a complete noob (because I am), but I thought you didn't have to connect your disc drive to the computer with the xk3y. I thought all you had to do was put the dummy.bin file on the sd card and connect it to you xbox disc drive. Why did you do all that other stuff at the beginning. I have a Lite-On drive if that helps. Thanks

@cazzscorner54 the extra equipment and steps are to get your dvd key from your drive. you have to have a way to dump your specific dvd key. can't do anything without your dvd key. and so far can't do this (or anything else) to the new Liteon DG-16D5S - 1175 drives :S

@Th3yk1lledkenny Kinda, to be honest the work required to pull your DVD drive key (what ties it to your motherboard) is 99% of the work of replacing the drive. I also have a benQ fat xbox and replaced my drive that wouldnt read games easily. I did get an xkey after a while but that is more for playing backup copies of games you own.

How can I edit the config file if I can't find it? I downloaded version 1.06 and installed on my key, but I can't see the files you mention except for type A and type B images and .jpg files. that came in the download. How can I edit it if I can't see it?

@Skyfaller2010 Just download them from xkey and put them on the hard drive. Put only the xkey.cfg and your firmware file on the microsd card.

this is cool and all but it's a little bit ridiculous. 1000 steps and wires coming out of your system that hook into a usb stick that hooks into a usb port... then a usb cable into the usb stick to goes to a remote... then another usb cable from your HDD to the remote. jesus christ... rather just burn discs and toss em in an unlocked drive.

What did you expect? To be plug and play? Same thing goes with flashing. Flashing gets pretty complicated as well lately, espeially slims

Nothing needs to be hanging out of your console. Simply plug in your USB hard drive to the USB dongle at the back of your Xbox 360, and your Xbox 360 looks like it is in its original state.

Great video! I bought my Xkey from you guys and LOVE it. It is amazing peice. I have a quick question. I have an older 360 pre Elite days and the system is getting a little touch and what not. I have been wanting to get a Slim for some time now but with the xkey not supporting all Slims do you have any advice? I live in the United States if that matters in the types of slims
