  • THIS BASS LINE IS CLASSIC!!! IT'S GOT AN EVEN BETTER FEEL IN THE MOVIE 'GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROAD STREET'!! PAUL LET LOUIS JOHNSON LOOSE ON THIS PIECE AND HE KILLED IT!! LOVE THIS SONG-PAUL IS REAL NICE ON THE BASS!! AND THAT'S NOT "SILLY"!!

  • It is surely not RAP! Ugh! But, this, this is real music! Listen, learn, love...I wish I could go back in time...

  • These were the days when music was music..Why did the 70's and 80's had to leave?

  • The bass line, the bass line 'It ain't silly at all at all at all'!

  • @adem1000000 This bassline was one of the first NON-Metallica parts I ever memorized as a 14 year old. Kudos to a guy who could keep a killer song in my head 20 years after it was written.

  • Nice song.

  • Watching this makes me wish Paul was immortal.

  • Guilty Pleasure. Look at all that Denim!

  • By Paul McCartney? Then the title is redundant.

  • I always thought the beginning of this songs sounds like the beginning of Pink Floyd's song Money,

  • Paul is the best there is. Period. ♥

  • Not heard this for ages.

  • The most perfectly-crafted pop song of them all

  • 2:40 to 2:42

Paul: "Linda I just stabbed myself now I cant pay that ticket!

Linda: That's Paul, always pretending to be dead

  • "He gave it all to me"... we all wish...

  • I get annoyed when people talk about John Bonham or Geddy Lee or blah blah blah as the best bassist of all time. It's clearly Paul Mccartney.

  • @ShareTheMike john bonham if im not mistaking is the drummer for led zepplin

  • LOVE this song, The critics got owned.

    РОСТО ШЕДЕВР

  • PAULIE!!!

  • Great bassline.

  • this has always been the wisdom of Paul to me: it's ok to be happy

  • flower power

  • Great song for a great year 1976!

  • The song was inspired by the comment that all PM was writing silly love songs. This song was PM's smart #ss reply. That is why I really like it.

  • If you ask me and many other Paul fans, we all agree this is by far his WORST hit ever! It's just too damn SLICK for my tastes. This is so far from "Ram" it's unbelievable! Wings could rock, and this ain't rocking by a long shot. It's not even "grooving."

  • @MattHatter My fave by Paul and The Wings, no doubt ("Coming Up" is there with it). There's always a song for everyone in this world. Plus, this video rocks. They ain't touring like this these days.

  • @sastal Yes that is true. It wouldn't have been the huge hit that it was if people didn't like it. But just for me, it's an example (along with "My Love" and "With A Little Luck") of Paul going too far in the slick / muzak vein. "Coming Up" is awesome because it's so funky and bouncy. I just can't take music, especially from an artist as great as Paul, when it's TOO slick. No melody that grabs me or anything.

  • @MattHatter I don't know about you, but I like a versitile artist. I'm a Paul fan and I think this is one of his best hits.

  • @CityslickCaptain I LOVE a versatile artist! If you listen to any rock of the '60s or '70s you're listening to versatile artists. Some of Paul's stuff like "Summer Day's Song," "Wanderlust," "Junk," etc. absolutely makes me break down in tears. But Paul could occasionally write muzak....once in a while, not nearly as much as some people make it out to be! I absolutely love "Take It Away" from "Tug Of War" but the chorus is the best part of the song, the rest of it is too slick and cheesy.

  • This is a Great Song, and a Great bassline

I Hope he performs it live again

  • I think this is the first McCartney approach with Disco Music!!!! :D

  • Love this song something about it that makes one happy to be married to someone who one is truly in love with..x

  • I love this song and everything about this video, from Paul and Linda happily traveling together in their younger days, to the hairstyles, to the Monster Mercury Marquis Sheriff's car escorting the entourage. This video is like a little time capsule that lets us see a slice of Paul and Linda's life as it was in 1976.

  • Paul wrote this song for John Lennon.

  • @cmrutter1 where did you get that??

  • Isn't that the former lead singer of the Moody Blues???

  • @bluejfk Yep that is Denny Laine the former lead vocalist for The Moody Blues before Justin Hayward took over from 1967 onward.

  • who is heather and mary ?

  • @MYNAMEISIKN Paul and Linda's kids!

  • I love this song & respect Paul for dreaming it up. What a lovely sentiment.

  • We miss you Linda R.I.P.

  • he looks so hot here :o

  • 4ever

  • Denny , Jimmy and Joe rock!!!

  • Great song and interestin video!

  • is that Heather and Mary playing in the audience? Cute!!

  • got to give Paul credit....the beginning sounds like a production line... as it may have seemed ...shooting out songs left and right.

  • Paul is such a ham ..I love it!

  • What a bass line!! Love McCartney .

  • @salmonesque its actually a very simple one look it up on fretplay... that is if you play

  • @salmonesque

Yes! Probably his coolest bassline. It makes the whole song.

  • Love this song! Paulie's so funny when he pretends to stab himself and Linda's just like "Yeah, I'm used to this." XD RIP Linda.

  • I wonder if Elvis was jealous this song ?

  • Well he certainly was jealous of the beatles!

  • Yes, superb!
