to Usurped: Great versions of these two songs on Luthers' "Live in Chicago" CD... Watching you is titled Cherry Red Wine on most of his releases in the US...
Smokin'!!! Luther is one of the all time greats, this here is proof of that! To zeppelin2392: that is pure tone fool, more than you'll ever get out of your boutique amp and pedal board full of over priced, hand-wired tone suckers. P90's thru an old (tweed?) Fender, in the hands of a master...
I would strongly disagree with this statement, blues performers in particular (of all ages) have a lot of substance to their work and Lucky Peterson isn't that young.
I disagree. Guys like John Mayer don't, but there are a lot of young blues players out there doing the hard yards and paying their dues in bars and pibs and taverns, look beyond the stuff on the radio and you will find gems. We are a dying breed maybe, but we are still there, and ther are some awesome young players who simply don;t get the attention they deserve. Long live the Blues!
You know what burns my ass? The great musicians like luther only had a couple of shirts to wear on stage, they played for the love of it. Now, these no talent punks are being paid ridiculous somes of money for what? GET WITH IT YOUNG PEOPLE! The Blues is an original American Art Form. Open your mind and open you ears! I feel better now. LOL
I think i;lls econd that lol. But as I said, there are young guys out there doing it, doing the hard yards, but they face disadvantages some of which are like the orignial bluesmen such as lack ofm public acknowledgment. In this day and age also an unappreciative audience, raised on MTV and video hits, whose musical knwoldege and pedigree extends back to 1980 at best, but most never would have heard of even SRV. Certainly is th case here in Australia anyway.
One of my favorites under appreciated what feel, and the lost art of dynamics... Thats whats missing in new music no dynamics.... Awsome.. Especially Cherry Wine One of my favorite all time

I agree. The younger generation doesent seem to have much substance in their work sadly. Maybe Lucky Peterson as an exception
