  • Hi, Bob. Excellent work as usual.

Do you know if the melody for Roddy McCorley and this song share a common ancestry?

    The drone works wonders.

  • lovely... great song

  • A great rendition. Thanks for sharing.

  • A great rendition , does yer Shruti box drone only in one key ? or can it be played in whatever key you sing in give or take a semitone?

  • @Honeymonstercxix My one is a "C" - it also comes in a "G." The keys on the box span a whole octave, so you have all the notes on the back, which can be played singly, or together for individual chords, including sharps and flats.

  • Excellent.... Any chance of some more uploaded performances with the Shruti box? There doesn't seem to be very many video's on here of it being used for traditional songs from Scotland/Ireland and that place below the wall where I reside!! I've recently acquired a shruti box this year and have been working on some arrangements with guitar & shruti, soon to be uploaded!

  • I wasn't aware of your comment until now - sorry for the delay in replying. I don't own a video camera, so I'll have to see if I can borrow one before I add more videos. I find it's great for traditional songs where a drone effect works well

  • Fine rendition Robert!
