If you were at all technical minded, you would know that Android has a lot moe to offer than iOS. Not only is Android more customizable, Google are more lenient on their software distribution methods. Look at the amount of emulators available on the Android Market place, as well as plenty more customization software; and one word..., WIDGETS!!
I just tried a Xoom at Best Buy, it was easy to get to it because nobody else cared about it, and it froze when I tried to browse the web. My experience at the Apple Store was and has always been the complete opposite. True story.
If you like what Android offers you in a feature list, you have the mind of a child. Adults know the products that work better are better.
The fact that Android needs special effects to make a sale should speak for itself. Get an iPad, but keep your eyes open. :)
Moto, dont worry if the xoom had low sales, with time and the growing of honeycomb things will get better....much much better. Thank you for giving us xoom!
Motorla has nice videos, but they should focus on product improvement. As of now, the Xoom can only play HD videos with base profile. There are pratically no HD video that use the base profile today, they are all high profile.
finally someone is catching up to apple. and now apparently passing apple. stupid apple should have put a front facing camera on the ipad in the first place. they are losing their lead in introducing new technology at an increasingly fast rate
Yes yes derf man I have the same feelings as you! I personally have a mile stone, and one of the features it promoted to have was flash, but up till now I don't see this on my phone. The 2.2 updates have been delaying for quite some time!!!! They went back on their words... Their locked bootloaders are stupid. Never gonna trust motorola anymore.
@chlordane2501 I'm not talking about Android, I'm talking only about Motorola. Their support sucks. They lie to their customers, they announce release dates which pass and then ae pushed back by a couple of months only to be pushed back again.
Honeycomb is surely amazing and will do great things for Android and tablets. Better to wait for another tablet from another manufacturer though. Toshiba, LG, Samsung, HTC, I believe Acer... there are several alternatives I'd look at.
@derfinsterling Why?? It's up to each one to decide. I for myself can think of a million reasons to do it. And for the bootloader ''According to the official Motorola Twitter account, the XOOM will come packed with a “unlockable/relockable bootloader”
@flame360 When you pay 600-800 Euros for a device, I expect the support to be top-notch as well. When there are any bugs, I expect Motorola to give me a fix in timely fashion.
I've read the reports as well, but we'll still have to see how Motorola treats its Non-US customers. Take a look at the Droid and the international sister-phone, the Milestone:
Droid: free Bootloader, running Android 2.2 for maybe half a year, going on 2.3
Ehhh its a Google experience device, and the official dev platform for Honeycomb. You can expect Google to handle the majority of the updates for this bad boy like the Nexus series

In this commercial
- It take 10 seconds before we see the actual product
- The last 5 seconds is spent showing the Motorola logo
- A couple of seconds here and there on the guy
"powered by the latest android technology, lightning fast performance, and uncompromising HD"
Watch the Apple "now" ad for iPad 2.. both are 30 seconds:
- Apple immediately shows us the iPad.
- They spend the entire 30 seconds showing how it "fits into your life"
"watch a newspaper, listen to a magazine, see a phonecall"

@MuF123 They are not CGI. They are real. I already used this Xoom couple of times, and I'm pretty sure that what I saw on this video, is real.

The commercial is great, but Motorola's software support isn't. I'd advice anybody to not buy a Motorola product until they work that out.

@derfinsterling You can flash a custom rom like cyanogen or other. Wich in the end will get you the best hardware with the best software ;)

@flame360 Sure I can, but why should I? Plus, we'll have to see if the bootloader in EU will be locked or not.
