I personally think it WASNT the whales fault. How do you expect a wild animal to be captured and want to do tricks for food? If I was captured I would freak out and wouldnt obey.
Yeah I don't think it was any one fault. But tilly could have been not in a good mood that day. I am really sad that happened to the trainer :(. But yeah you can't always expect a whale to ALWAYS be sweet ;) haha. To avoid anymore deaths with this tilikum whale um..should be still participating in shows and he should retire. Yeah..
wow, you looked like charlotte in that. any hoo, i don't think they should release tilly, b/c of instincts, and he has been in captivity so long, that he doesnt really know what to do. but im not sure what they should do with it, either. we all know how dangerous whales are, and me more than most, because my daddy was a whale and animal trainer at seaworld. i just hope the whale is taken care of well, and not killed or anything.
Tilikum should be released because 1.) he has been involved with the deaths of 3 people 2.) he is kept apart from the other orcas for up to "3 days at a time" according to the director of SW's animal training 3.) he has made SW millions of dollars [it is estimated that each dolphin or whale present at an aquarium draws in $1 million per year] and he deserves his rehabilitation and retirement to a bay pen either in Iceland (where he was captured) or Washington (to stay in a pen in the ocean).
when i saw a clip of Dawn it drove it home for me. but i'll say this, the whale should be retired because if any other wild animal kill JUST ONCE they hunt it down and kill it, and this whale apparently has killed twice, but the whale shouldnt be killed; just retired. HER DEATH IS SAD, THOUGH
Honestly, I think it's nobody's business, but the trainers. It's their lives and they know the risks. They still choose to do this because it's what they love! Yes, they know it could kill them, but they don't care.
So let them make the decisions for themselves. If you are not in contact with any dangerous animals, just stay out of it! Let them handle it themselves!
some of whales are born there so they can't free all of them and i think they should free the ones from the wild if they could but then i look how Keiko was free and he die
i love ur RING !!!! LOL JK

some animals just don't belong in captivity, and cetaceans are definitely in that category.

i do some what agree with you. i do not have a side but i still believe that rehablitating them is a good idea. but not keeping them in captivity

Yeah I totally agree, that's why I don't bash them all together because they do great work with sea turtles and manatees
