@wrestletube1 I've got the original put the Mega Drive is in the gamesroom and the PS3 is in the Living Room... so as the kids were around it was easier to play in the Living Room.. lol
I played a load of this on the PSP's Mega Drive collection when I was trying to get all of the unlockable extras. It's fairly pretty but the controls are a bit of a nightmare to say the least. Oh, and I think that thing at 3:00 in is something you have to swing around on to gain momentum before shooting off at speed, although I'm not sure...
Really like this wee game. Gets quite creative and difficult in the latter stages. I'm sure I read somewhere that his arm thingy was an original Sonic design that was dropped. Might be making that up though! Ha!
@SpeedoJoe In my opinion the real aspect ratio is what you get on the real console and what I see on my Widescreen TV is a full screen MD picture in 60hz and a 3/4 screen on 50hz.
Pillowbox is no way the real ratio, don't know why they did it like this when porting it over to the 360 and PS3 as the proper console ratio was either letterbox or full screen.
Thats unless the fake HD is the reason behind the silly ratio change. In that case they should have emulated it on those consoles properly.
I love the Megadrive collection disk, but I always have to stretch the screen out so I don't have any border... I don't care how much I'm distorting things, it has to be done !
I could never get into this, maybe because I'd already been through thousands of platformers on the MEGADRIVE & GAMEBOY already and the format had been done to death, I just started playing it did a few levels, then never touched it again, which wasn't like me back then, I'd play everything to death over and over.
Been meaning to pick this up on an original cart. The level design reminds me of Mushroom Hill zone from Sonic & Knuckles, definitely seems to have a Sonic Team look and feel about it. But for all the images I'd never seen a gameplay vid before.
This is always labelled as a hidden gem for some reason... good to see a vid from you

Darn it. Your sub doesn't come up on my list anymore but it is still there. Stupid YouTube.

@wrestletube1 Yeah I've given up on the subs list. Stupid.

Whilst Ristar and Knuckles were official SEGA ripoffs of Sonic there are other ripoffs that may not be so official.
Socket was the worst of of the unofficial ones, that's for sure.

@wrestletube1 They were probably trying to make as much money as possible from the Sonic engine.

Great gameplay matey - I was playing this one on the Mega Drive collection over the weekend... tough little game... lol
XFile2708 8 months ago
@XFile2708 Wasn't playing it on the real thing matey? Or is it one you still need for the full collection or one not on PAL?

@qazimod I think it works well controlwise on the 360 pad, not sure what it was like on an original MD pad :s

@wrestletube1 I see. Are you saying the Pillowbox ratio is 1:1 pixels? Bummer if it is.

This looks like a cute game. :o) I noticed that a lot of Sega Genesis/Megadrive games have spongy controls. Very frustrating.

@gameendings Tried on my TV but looked awful :(

@gameendings Exactly. That doesn't happen on the real MD so shouldn't happen on an emulator.

@28steryan Yeah it's a strange one. I prefer the Sonic games even though this is fun it just feels a bit bland in places.
