A DJ used to play Womenfolk's cover of this song every morning when I was a little kid in Beaumont, Texas. I knew even then that there was a very important message here. Later, as a teenager, my favorite band was Rush, lo and behold, they wrote a great song called Subdivisions with the same basic message. When I was in 2nd grade, back in '64, this song was still fairly new (written in '62). I wanted to enter the talent contest that year and perform a Beatles song.
