We the fans who grew up with Superman have accepted Brandon Routh as the new Superman because everything looked good in the new movie. This is a reboot. Like batman and green lantern, The Man of steel is set in today's society so things have to change for this film to appeal to today's audience weather we want them to or not. Even the comics have moved into the modern times and superman has a new suit, which by the way is very similar to this one.

I don't mind them getting rid of the red trunks, I can live with that and I expected it would happen one day after they shrunk the trunks down to speedo size in 2006's Superman Returns...but the suit looks like something from 1930s Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers, and not in a good way...more cheesey futuristic way. I have a feeling this suit will look really silly and dated in 20-30 years.

I never really liked the original suit... this is darker blue, darker red. The colors, less bright, just look better... and the absence of the red 'shorts' fits with the changes being made in the comics as well. I say it's about time. The old suit is nearly 80 years old... would YOU want to wear the same clothes for 80 years?... LOL i wish Tom Welling was playing the role... but other than that I am looking forward to the movie.

The Suit: 1. Strip-off those silly greco-egyptian accents off the wrists and hips. 2. The cape's fabric & color of Red shown @ 0:35 / 1:20 is a perfect cape & color, perhaps it can be tucked at the shoulders and a bit loose on the back -after Alex Ross' renditions. The Blue should NOT be grayed at all, either lightened or darkened -but never ever grayed. 3. The Yellow needs to be lightened to reflect the correct hue of Superman's Yellow -NOT Iron Man's Gold. -Where the Heck are the Red Trousers?

First off let me just say that in my opinion, this suit sucks! It's okay to change some colors up and make a few new additions here and there but that's it. But if you go overboard, that's how you get a George Clooney batman suit nipples and all. The superman suit doesn't have nipples but it sure does have a big buldge. That and it pretty much looks like the same material that the spiderman suit is using.

The Suit: 1. Strip-off those silly greco-egyptian accents off the wrists and hips. 2. The cape's fabric & color of Red shown @ 0:35 / 1:20 is a perfect cape & color, perhaps it can be tucked at the shoulders and a bit loose on the back -after Alex Ross' renditions. The Blue should NOT be grayed at all, either lightened or darkened -but never ever grayed. 3. The Yellow needs to be lightened to reflect the correct hue of Superman's Yellow -NOT Iron Man's Gold. -Where the Heck are the Red Trousers?

First off let me just say that in my opinion, this suit sucks! It's okay to change some colors up and make a few new additions here and there but that's it. But if you go overboard, that's how you get a George Clooney batman suit nipples and all. The superman suit doesn't have nipples but it sure does have a big buldge. That and it pretty much looks like the same material that the spiderman suit is using.

@knig1987 Its looks really cool I think, way better than the new Spidey suit, my only digs at this new Superman suit is I just wish it had a damn belt! It just feels like it needs a belt running across the waist, but other that that, Im liking the new suit.

If you guys really want to know the reason why the reboot is taking place is: It's because yea sales have dropped and if this movie fails in the box office. Superman DIES ON ALL MEDIUMS!! This is the hail Mary pass to score a touchdown when there is only 5 seconds left on the clock. This movie fails and Superman is done.

i don't really like the costume but i willing to get over it i just dont understand why there is an obbsession with putting unnecesary texture to all these costumes its like the movie makers are afraid to make a costume without any. scales/ridges/patterns they are unneeded.

Brandon Routh was terrible. Cavill is gonna rock the role more than he ever did.
