@l3pje Well i guess it will be nice later on when there are larger SSDs available for cheap.

I mean, access time is really all i'm looking forward to when it comes to games, reducing that loading speed is important, and i hate having programs on the same volume as windows as well. Then again, it's not that big a deal anymore...

@ShinyMawile You dont really need the accestimes for games, for games all you need is a high troughput, i almost get the same load times in games with 6x 2Tb in raid5. Ssd are specially for OS and programs

WOW, now that is fast, does it make a difference on anything other than booting up multiple programs as in every day performance. Are the SSD's really worth it in your opinion? Thanks again.

yeah he has probbaly just around 4 secs, the seconds hand on the clock we from 45 to 9 or 10

How long did it actually take? Your taskbar clock seems like it went through a minute and a few seconds.

i noticed you have steam.. do you have counter-strike? if so does it load up on maps way faster. Or what about any other valve game?

yup WOW!! sure accesses fast but does it freeze and stutter when you multi task, i have heard this is a real issue at the moment with a lot of the ssd drives??

Not with the intel and ocz vertex ssd's, only with the OCZ core solid and apex series

Old SSDs with 1st gen JMicron-controllers stutter, even without multitasking. It's not cool when you messenger stops for 10 seconds, because it's waiting for your drive to write the logfile.

Then there's 1st gen Samsung drives that aren't any faster than normal harddisks.

And last but definetly not least, there's Intel, Indilinx and 2nd gen Samsung drives that are fast as heck.
