I discovered Slade back in 1972 when I was in college on "Rock Concert", that live performance weekly show that used to be on TV........and I was off to the races after that.
Now, at 63, I'm busy trying to re-learn "Gudbuy to Jane" like I used to be able to play it on my Gibson........
Slade lives forever and I just wish that the originals would regroup..........anyone but Noddy, Dave, Jim and Don are "decaffinated"......
these guys were so fucking good it is a fucking huge shame that in the history of music we do not recognize the bands that literrally kicked the living shit out of every other band. but i am totally discriminitory. i am from Detroit. Slade Rules!
I was in high school in Phoenix Arizona when i discovered Slade...to this day, i don't know why they didn't catch on in the U.S. I enjoyed listening to Slade music all throughout my teenage years and i still enjoy them today at 51.
this is probably the best live version of this song on youtube. there are a few more worse live versions, and a few that claim to be live, but are not. ;)
Many thanks raferdurham for posting this. Brings back a lot of great memories of seeing them live singing my favorite Slade song. Especially seeing the lights flashing from the mirrors on Nod's famous hat.
Although I knew pretty many of the main stream rock bands, i.e., Boston, AC/DC, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, etc. I've never heard of these guys. I wasn't into alot of rock bands. Basically Journey and The Eagles were my favoritesbut my kids played
