i want to work on this idea as my final year project.i want to know the final cost & technical information i mean how much electrical energy is produced???what will be the cost of the equipment?what will be the size of gear & no of teeth on each gear what will be the type of genrator.etc...............
This would piss me off unless it was only deployed to help cars stop at red lights, then you would only piss me off if I had a hybrid with regenerative breaking. It makes no sense to hurt mileage.
@gilligasad It hurts mileage??? I bet that if you find a regular speed bump you wouldn't complain about mileage. These people are trying to use the energy you waste when the car runs over the speed bump!!! That is kinetic energy you DON'T use. It is funny how people who do no brain work at all criticize intelligent people's work.
@MegaEzeiza I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and take that as sarcasm. From the description: "The ramp is unobtrusive, silent in operation, causes no
discomfort to the vehicles occupants and is entirely safe in
operation." That doesn't sound like it is intended to be used as a speed bump to me.
It's sad how we call our country UNITED but there is nothing united except taxes and war. California is the pioneering state that will be harnessing this energy. Why only California? Why is it always like that?
From legalizing marijuana to having clean diesel engine vehicles first to something so amazing like harvesting that wasted energy vehicles make going over roads. Marijuana for example should be legalized nationwide, imagine the possibilites just in that..paper, fuel, meds, etc
Go away. Really, buy a ticket somewhere, get a tan, get laid with someone who seems perfect and then take the stick up your anus. After you have done everything, do it again only the next time just make it a lifestyle somewhere off the grid.
Does this save energy though? It will hurt the milage of the car, plus cost a lot of energy to implement. It would take a long time to pay off that energy alone, and will forever burden milages of cars. Its kinda like stealing, really.
@Nickodemusodurn Stealing what? Mileages from your car? how many more? 2 inches more? wow that'a lot of mileage!!! It's like saying that the people who collects your garbage lives from something that belongs to you and you don't want that people to use it for any purposes. The energy you WASTE and DO NOT use when breaking your car at speed bumps or anything similar like that, it used to collect electricity that can be used to illuminate lights or other uses!!! Think about it.
@Sunfadedlovejaded It's mainly in California because there are fewer people taking action on clean energy. You need to UNITE your fellow neighbors, etc. to collaborate on acting and petitioning to move forward. It just takes the state's people. State-wise is easier to accomplish; however, nationwide is a little more difficult to achieve BECAUSE of the differing views on clean energy, climate, and our future.
This is an awesome idea to recapture otherwise wasted energy by converting the weight of a passing car turning it into an electrical power source. As if it were meant to be, perhaps they could replace conventional rumble strips.

@MegaEzeiza
Think about the cost to energy ratio, and actually do some math and research. Its not gonna happen.

@Sunfadedlovejaded *Correcting myself* there are fewer people taking action in other states.

Good thing weed is legal there cause I could medicate and watch cars pass by all day

@justScottnow
Rumble strips are to alert drivers to slow down.

But that's just taking from the car's gasoline storage. You haven't really won on anything. It's not like this energy is free.
