  • You know what is funny it that Shea was 45 years old, and no reported leaks, no pieces of concrete falling during games. Citi FIeld has not even been open for a year and it is already falling apart! They should have kept Shea......

  • i am a met fan i had the best memories there but why would they keep it up when was the last time u saw it there idea of a renovation is paint. I am suprised there knocking down the so called cathedral of baseball when fenway was there first i hated that place in the bronx but this a good video why does evreyone include the beatles they played there once

  • @Limatsdaddy07 dude the beatles concert at shea was the most influential concert of all time...and they played there twice

  • personally, I am one of the ones who think Shea should ve stayed... It was part of the city`s history. And part of our own history

  • I feel the same way. If they wanted better experience or what ever the explanation for the new park better seats right, then change the seats and Shea! It was the perfect place. And there is nothing METS at Citi Field, its just there, Shea screamed METS! LETS GO METS. Citi Field will never be my "Second home" like Shea was. RIP SHEA.

  • the neon players, the memories, everything was so special!... it`s all a matter of wining money, how much you think citi group gave them for that stadium???... You got to hand it to the cubs in that matter, wringley field is still there, it`s a city icon.

  • It was, and I went to opening day and today's loss. And man, things are different. During key moments at Shea if we were in a tough spot, the fans would on their feet cheering and clapping and screaming "Lets Go Mets!". At Citi Field, only the die hard fans who bleed orange and blue stood up and cheered. The new park is dead, and doesn't have energy because the Met magic isn't there and die hard fans have been replaced with rich people. It pisses me off.

  • Nice way to put it "the die hard fans have been replaced with rich people"... on the spot! Soon they`ll start calling it new york Citi, I just hate the board for selling out like that... We didnt really need a new stadium, if anything they could`ve just made more seats right?

  • Or to save money, switched the seats at Shea, but it still wouldn't have been the same. Shea was perfect, and now its rubble, and now we have to deal a stadium with obstructed views because the owners cared more about fancy reasteraunts for the rich. It pisses me off so much.

  • On February 18, 2009 at around 11:30AM, the final piece of in the demolition of Shea Stadium came down. Goodbye Shea! :(

  • Great video! Good-bye Old Friend! Let's make more memories at Citi Field! Let's Go Mets!

wow. :( this vid makes me so sad. some1 msg me!! xD mS

  • man ill miss it great vid good bye shea =;[

  • Its a real shame that the Mets couldn't win it one last time for Shea. I was lucky enough to see the MEts last win at Shea with Johan with his Shut Out. Goodbye Shea! Citi Field won't be able to have the same Memories and Thrills as Shea!

  • goodbye shea
